Dunno but there is a Phantasy Star collection coming out on GBA which will have Phantasy Star 1, 2, and 3 on it. If I'm not mistaken there will be a method for connecting PSO with the PS collection as well.

One of the Phantasy Star artbooks (I forget which) from the mid-90s features an interview in which the designers of PS4 toss out complex ideas for a sequel, and the same book shows an illustration of . . . . .

. . . . Chaz and Rika's son. Sadly, nothing resulted from this.
A number of the old Phantasy Star staffers, including Rieko "Phoenix Rie" Kodama, worked on Skies of Arcadia, and they're likely finishing up its GameCube port right now. When that's completed, who knows?

That'd be super sweet! In a way, Phatnasy Star's sci-fi and outer space ideas did inspire Enix's Star Ocean series to, you could say.
