Maybe I'm just paranoid... :o The thing is, I was actually outbid by $2.50, but that winning bid was retracted right away. Does this happen often? Do people try to push up the price to your max bid just for the hell of it?

BTW, if the price seems high, it was kind of an anti snipe bid, since I wasn't able to be there at the end of the auction... That and I really wanted it. x_x

This guy is pulling a scam. Click on this link and then look at the bid history of these auctions. This was done a number of times over the last month. I would turn this guy into eBay. This is shill bidding without a doubt.

totally. I find that this zelda_freak_18 sure loves retro_game_addict 's auctions. Hell he bid in every one, AND got lucky enough to win 5 of them. I like how there is a huge buncha negative feedback for Zelda_freak, for NPB, and the auctions that he did win were all with MO's so they can escape the "checkout" used to pay with PayPal auctions.

Also those are some of the darkest and grainy pics that i've ever seen on ebay. I totally agree with mcgrail, turn him in to ebay.

All right. I sent him an email telling him that he should sell it to me at the price before zelda_freak_18 got involved, which is $57. I just wanted to give him a chance to make it right, or else I will report him. Umm, if I already paid him right away (paypal), am I screwed here? :eek 2: Or is there some hope of recovering scammed money?

OK, the more I dig into this, the more it stinks. 8 bid retractions in the last 6 months, and 7 of them were on retro's auctions in the last 30 days, one bid increment over the high bidder... Consider this guy reported. :angry:

Good for you. I sat here and laughed at how the shill bidding is SOOOOO obvious. The prior retractions on that auction were fishy enough, but telling it you entered the wrong bid amount and re-bidding days later well above and beyond the amount you had retracted is ridiculous. Once he's banned I'd send him an email telling him to get bent. LOL
