The guy who normally gets me passes decided not to go this year and I just now found out. If anyone has 2 guest passes they could spare, they would become my new best friend.

I didn't know they gave out guest passes, I thought you had to be 'in' the industry somehow. *shrug*

I think tickets are like $300 for non industry people.

Nope. You have to be a member of the industry (journalist, retailer, developer, etc.) and be able to prove it in order to get in. I'm getting in thanks to Gamestop, I know Perkar is in for media.
EDIT:
Please note that E3 is a trade-only event and is not open to the general public. Individuals who are not able to document their direct, professional affiliation to the interactive entertainment industry are not qualified to attend.

There are new rules this year to make it more difficult to get in. In the past it was easy to make a business card and get it, but now you have to have an email confirmation and ID.

I should have gone while I still worked at EB.
Say, for argument sake, that I did still work at EB. What would I do? I'm not going for sure, but humor me.

I'm pretty sure it is too late to register.

Check out the E3 Expo site, it explains everything about registering, and there are phone numbers if you still have questions.

If you're an industry person and can be there you really shouldn't miss it. Especially THIS year (see sig below) :)
I could have gotten you tickets had you asked a month or so ago...I could have gotten one (possibly two) but I didn't have the money or means to get out there so I had to turn it down.

man let me tell you... the registration process was evil.
for my media pass, i needed to send them a copy of my DL, a business card, tax info, an article i had written in the past 6 months... we're talking the works here.
i know the free media registration ended april 9, but i have no idea how other registration is working....
