I was just bored, and wondering is there any difference in rarity between the versions of PS1 systems? Like for example I see PSone systems and the later models of the PSX version everywhere. But I hardly ever(even on Ebay) see the early models of PSX, like the Japanese launch systems or the model 1001 american Playstation systems.

Also, I ended up getting a model 1001 PS1 system complete with everything and in great shape. Is that worth anymore then a PSone?

The reason I want to know this stuff is, I just started getting into collecting PS1 stuff so I'm just curious.

Thanks in advance.

They are a bit more uncommon since there werent as many produced, and a lot of htem have crapped out by now and are in a landfill somewhere.

Worth more? Not really, though to the right person, it might be (ie someone who wanted to use a plugmod))

Yeah, what Sisko said. The biggest difference in models is that they use different models of mod chips, haha. Don't forget that if the model ends in a 1 it's a US model (spch-1001), whereas the original Japanese release was the spch-1000.
