75 copies at the local EB were all reserved. I picked one up at Zellers today. I can't wait until I have some real time (this weekend) to sit down with it.

149 reserved at the Funco I work at. No extras. Then 75 or so are reserved for the second shipment.

Holee, am I the only one who walked into the local mom and pop (or Games & James in my case) and picked it up with out a reserve on Tuesday morning?

More importantly, am I the only person not interested in it? :?:

About four hundred were reserved at my EB, so we had none to sell to walk-ins on the first day. And if the number of people asking about the game is any indication, you might just be the only one who doesn't care about it, Tritoch.

Well, you're not alone. ;) I really don't care for that game.

No PS2 = no interest in Vice City for me. Actually, I don't think I'd be all that interested in it even if I owned a PS2, though.

Add my vote to the "Not Interested" pile. I never liked GTA (just didn't appeal to me), so I have no intrest in Vice City. My brother on the other hand is addicted to it.

Actually that's not true, I have a little bit of intrest in Vice City since I hear it has an 80's theme to it.

The EB by where I work had 600 pre-orders. This game is going to be an instant "Greatest Hits" at this rate.

I'm sure there are lots of people out there not interested in the game but I'm defintiely not one of those. I'm just not going to purchase it anytime soon - I have enough to keep me busy for awhile. It'll be one of the first games I purchase next time I go on a buying spree though - GTA III was excellent IMO.

Whether you like 2d/3d/old/new/whatever, if you don't want to play Vice City, then you don't like good videogames. It's amazingly fun in every way.

That's not necessarily true... just because I do not like the content of a video game does not mean that I do not like good video games. That seems to be a rather narrow-mined viewpoint that you are taking. It seems to me like you are saying "If you don't like Vice City, then you are an idiot."

BTW, if you haven't guessed, I have no interest for Vice City either.

That's a rather bold statement of you.

It's already cheaper....GTA:VC is 39.99 at Best Buy this week. If they're out, take the flyer to a store that price matches.

I'm waiting for the original GTAIII to come down in price! Still $40+ brand new everyplace! Maybe I'll wait 'till it's released as a Greatest HIts....after they finish milking the cow , of course.

I liked GTAIII, but I didn't get too far into the game, I think the setting of Vice City is more to my liking, so I will get it eventually (next paycheck).

The GameStop near my house had over 900 copies of Vice City reserved. Then, even with the reservations, when the shipment arrived last week, there was a line outside the place two blocks long just to pick up their reserved copies. I didn't bother with a reservation figuring I could wait a week and get it when the second shipment came in. But I took a shot at another kind of "hole in the wall" place and they had two copies left so I'm playing!

I have to say, I thought GTA III was one of the best games ever made. So far, Vice City is right up there with it. It's basically the same game with a new story. It is certainly violent so if that sort of thing bothers you than I can see not liking it, but other than that, there really isn't much not to like. It's a very well thought-out and executed game in my opinion. WELL worth the $40-$50 you might pay for it.

I don't want to play Vice City bc I have no time for another game and haven't even come close to beating GTA3. *shrug*

I'll eventually get it, probabaly play it three times and move on.

The EB where I live had all their copies reserved, but there was a stipulation: you HAD to be there on launch day, otherwise your reserve gets bumped. Unfair? Maybe. But seeing how many reserves they got (I think it was 300 in my little 50K burb) it was probably the best way to keep everyone happy.

I played it. It garners an "OK" out of me. Sure I enjoyed GTAIII, didn't beat it, but I enjoyed it. Vice City, even with its slight graphical updates and additions of new vehicles, just didn't have the same attraction as GTAIII. They could have sat on the game a bit longer, fixed up some more things (like allow your guy to SWIM, I mean, Vice City IS surrounded by water, made the targeting even better, etc.). It just reminds me of a new 200x sports game that gets released every year.

Boy i wish there were some Mom and pop stores here in State College, Pa --- it'd be a gold mine with all these students. If only I had the money to start one. :-) It's not a good scene... just the Walmart's, Best buy's... CC and an EB.

Although I did get a copy unreserved at CC on Saturday. :)
