Went to the thrift stores in the next town over today. :D Heres what I came home with:

I know that for some people maybe this is the product of an average day at the swap meet, but I don't go to swap meets so I rely on thrift stores to find good deals. All the boxed games are complete and the carts inside them are all mint. I'm guessing that whoever owned them only took the carts out to play them and then put them back. So I was just wondering what you all thought of it and if there is anything in the picture that is especially hard to find or extra collectible. I wont be selling any of it on eBay or anything except for the two games that I already have, but it's just nice to know if I got anything extra juicy. I know that Puzznic is R6 but I don't know if it's a saught-after game or anything. Anyway I was pretty exited about this haul and would like to hear any comments that anyone has about any of the games.

P.S. Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego comes with the little encyclopedia and I dont think it has ever even been opened. Pretty neat.

Carmen Sandiego was 2.99, Kings Quest was 5.99, Wizardry was 7.99. All other NES games were 1.99. The Tiger handheld Football game was 50 cents. It works great! Its actually fun. The two books were a dollar each. I think that's everything...

Those finds are not bad at all, very nice going man. I picked up a horde of complete NES games at this one small thrift I hadn't been to in a long time and they all work great. Complete NES finds just rock. =)

Ironically I picked up Puzznic a little while back and was surprised it was an R6. I don't think it's a very sought after game, but I dunno, I guess it all depends on wether or not someone's searching it out.

If you are ever looking for a friend, i'll take that complete swamp thing off of your hands :D

Nice finds though. Doesn't it just make your day when you find a pile of complete NES games. I don't think there is a greater feeling... well then again maybe there is... ;)

I didnt want to spend any more moeny than I did, so I left a ton of games there that were loose. I'm gonna go back next week and pick through them. Didn't notice anything juicy though. They have a glass case that is completely packed with games. I dont think anyone in the area collects games. It's sad but there were two SMS systems there but they were both in horrible condition and were for the unit itself with no hookups. They had a Sega Saturn arcade stick there but I don't have a saturn anyway.

I did leave behind three complete games. Goal!, Bases Loaded, and Play Action Football. They had about 14 complete Genesis games but they were all sports titles.

@_@

that's quite a find! i just bought a loose river city ransom for $10 and i still need bubble bobble, which will probably be $10.

i don't know my saturn stuff, but i imagine that arcade stick would be worth picking up. that's crazy they have sms's. my thrift had a genny for $25 with no controllers or hook-ups. someone must have bought it too, cause it's gone.

Not a bad haul. Just started collecting for the NES. I'm up to five games. That number should increase to seven by day's end, providing that I get Tetris and Racket Attack from the discount pile.

Damn! Nice finds man!

I have yet to find ANYTHING worthwhile in the wild :[

other than EB/Gamestop I have yet to:

Find ANY nes games complete

Find any worthwhile nes games (other than: Adventure island at a yard sale and World Class track meet at Sal Army)

Not bad at all! It's next to impossible to find NES games with instruction manuals alone anymore, much less complete and in such good condition.

Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego for the NES came with that whacking big encyclopedia? And I thought that was just a copy protection device for the computer versions.

(It's actually a pretty nice book, but it looks like it made the box a lot larger than all the other NES boxes.)

First I want to say thanks to Richter for mirroring my pic. Geocities sucks, and that was extremely cool of him to do.

Second, I went back to the same store today. Bought what of the loose games were any good plus found Goal! and Bases Loaded Secons Season complete so I bought those too. Also found an Apple 5.25" drive which I needed. So I'm in the checkout line and I see another boxed NES game sitting on top of a sewing machine behind the counter, but I have bad eyesight (need new glasses) so I can't tell what it is. But for $1.99 (plus 30% on Saturdays!!!) I told her I would also buy that one. Well she brings it up to the counter and then I see what it is....

Ms. Pac-Man - complete, and yes, THE NAMCO VERSION!! $1.99 - 30% = $1.40. Box has some shelf-wear, but the cart is minty fresh and the manual is in excellent shape. :D

Before this the rarest NES game I had was Tengen Tetris which is an R6. This clocks in at an R7, instantly becoming my most rare game for NES and probably the most rare game in my collection.

Sorry to everyone who has been asking about trades but the games arent for trade. I'm gonna get rid of my loose copies of pipe dream, wall street kid, and golf since i got these, but i dont think that anyone here wants those. i also picked up another loose copy of legend of zelda that ill be getting rid of. If anyone happens to want one of those then let me know, but I dont expect any takers.
