That's really tasteless, but I think it's hilarious that it's just Metal Slug. Think they left the part at the end in when the aliens come down?

Maybe they worked it into the plot that Bin Laden was really an alien. Wouldn't really be surprised. :P

Well he is like six foot four and pretty gangly. You could turn a Grey sprite into a Bin Laden sprite pretty easy. Plus there's the whole Saddam Hussien-ish character in there which is conviently topical.

On the other hand, it's a pirate cart, so if the aliens come down, there's probably not going to be an explanation why. They just do. LOL

Has anyone every played "Fugitive Hunter" (I think that's the title), where you supposedly fight Osama Bin Laden at the end, just curious to see some comments on that title

that is a pretty tasteless game, but it would still be interesting to play.

As tasteless as it is, keep in mind it is probably coming from Japan. Were they absolutly don't care about our feelings or culture. I would actually like one of those carts in my collection, just cause its intresting. If it was put out by a big name company would I buy it? ABSOLUTLY NOT. There is no need for someone to fund that. Intresting to say the least.

well, in "Americas Most Wanted" you do also hunt Bin Laden, and noone cares (in the US) so what's so special about this one?

Whats funny is the fact that it looks pretty cool to play.
Unfortunatly it takes such a bad piece of history and turns it into a game :o

I doubt that. And I think it's equally offensive for someone to make the game as it is to accuse a whole nation of people of not caring about other cultures and thousands of people dying... :/ If the Japanese didn't care about American culture, why would they act absolutely obsessed with it?

Anyway, that's a pirate game, in case you didn't notice, and Japan produces official products. I've never bought or seen any pirates of Japanese products that were actually created in Japan by Japanese people (I'm sure some must exist, but it's an insignificant amount compared to the rest of Asia, which bootlegs Japanese products like there's no tomorrow). That game is likely from Hong Kong, Taiwan, or any of those other southern Asian countries that bootleg Japanese goods.

Don't trust LanKwei - they are known for ripping off their customers and not sending stuff.

I think it's flat out pathetic that people find this offensive. I can think of dozens of games off the top of my head that should be deemed a LOT more offensive than the SMALL incident that happened commonly referred to as 9/11. Maybe the 5 dozen games based on millions of jews dying in death camps? The hundreds of games based on world war 1 and 2 for that matter. Even some vietnam games spring to mind.

And their website is crap. You can only order by email and their euro prices are "a little bit" overpriced...

I'm right on board with Sylentwulf this one. 9/11 is a sore spot because it's still fresh in people's memories. I'd like to think of what a WW2 vet would think about a video game where you "get" to participate in the storm on Normandy. Personally I don't think anyone making a pirate video game is more offensive than the way most news stations squeezed every solitary bit of juice from that day as they could. (and the months of the OJ trial. Or the day the Columbine shootings happened.)

Or the day the Columbine shootings happened.

Now a Columbine FPS would be a lot more offensive then a Metal Slug port with a 9/11 opening. That pirate doesn't really show us anything we haven't arleady seen and it's not as if you play as the terorists. Actually you play the US soldiers (good guys) trying to kill Bin Laden (evil space alien). Now a flight sim where your ulitmate goal was to crash your plane into the WTC would be another story.

Not a whole lot offends me anymore, this doesn't either. I can understand how people who watched what went on that day, and who lost people there can be offended by it...

Good point about MFS Funkenstein, that's the only thing I ever figured out how to do with that program...take off and crash into a building. That's just what you did with that program...until the fiction turned into a reality. I don't know what I would do with MFS now...probably actually learn how to land I guess.

When we had a Wright Brothers exhibit at COSI...the #1 thing people said was (mind you they were flying the Wright Brothers first airplane here) was "Hey! Crash into that building over there." I'd say 50% of all the flights I saw, ended with the person purposely crashing their plane into a house, building, radio tower etc...

Unless you're into planes (like my brother) flight sims are generally really fucking boring and if they're any good they're insanely difficult. I remember we had one for the Genesis and all I could ever accomplish with it was my own firey death, which was somewhat satisfying. :P

people naturally tend to make things do what they arent supposed to do. another similar example is Hard Drivin' The first time i played the arcade game, i would purposely wreck the car, hit the cow, and drive off the top of the loop just to do it. if people werent that exploratory in games, then there would be no easter eggs

There actually was one released not to long after I joined DP. You received a score based on how well you crashed a plane into one of the two towers. There was a thread about it with a link over at Nesworld. Tasteless? Yes.

I do also agree with the "That is God-awful" because it is fresh in the mind of Americans/those it directly affected.

Anybody else know of another more reliable place one could pick up a copy of this game?
