How many of you all had either Amdek or Commodore monitors?
The reason I'm asking is in the Rooms of Doom I keep seeing Amdek and Commodore monitors over and over. Man they built those things to last. I still have one of each. They are so handy, since they take RCA plugs you can just plug most gaming systems right into them.

I grabbed as many Commodore 1702 monitors I could from the thrifts years ago, when they were super-cheap. I've given some to friends and donated others. However, I still have two of them for myself.
I've seen them all over the place, just about a month ago, I went to get passport photos done and the guy had one for his setup there. It's nice to see the Commodore name live on.

I have a 1702. Even after 20 years, it works like a charm. They don't do monitor like these anymore.

I got my Commodore monitor from a coworker - as well as his C64 and other stuff. Great little piece of hardware, although I don't currently have it setup (I only have room for one and I chose a 27" TV)

I got my Commodore 1084 a few years back when I had a summerjob in a janitor company. We where doing a cleaning in an attic of a flat when I noticed a monitor laying in a corner.
I was informed that it had been left there by a guy who had moved away years back and it was ok to "clean it up" too.
I didn't think it would work (the attic wasn't insulated and it can get below -30C in the winter) but I took it home anyways. I opened it up and took a general look, everything fine, plug it in and have been using it ever since. (now used mainly to play ST-V board) :)

The Commodore 1084S is, in my opinion, the finest monitor you can use for video game systems. There aren't a lot of RGB monitors out there, and the Atari ST ones all seem to be quite a bit smaller.
Incidentally, my brother is a big Amiga fan... but since he doesn't use the Amiga as much as he used to, I've yanked the monitor (a 1084S) to hook up to my game systems. We were hoping to find another 1084S, and eventually, we found a rather goofy monitor that claimed to be a 1084S... but it was different. In fact, it turned out to be a 1084S-P1. It still had Commodore logos on it, but think it was actually manufactured by a different company than the normal 1084S's, and they are likely a lot harder to find. The only differences we could find were that the casing was designed a bit differently, the power button was on the back (inconvenient), and the RGB port is a completely different connector. We still haven't found a cable to actually hook it up to the Amiga, so it's hooked up in composite for now (which looks quite bad for the Amiga).
