What's up with this emulator?

I've been playing around with EPSXE the last few days or so and I did I search in these forums to see what other people were saying. I came across an emulator I hadn't heard of - the aforementioned Emurayden.

When I google it, though, the website seems to have this "coming soon/next generation" type splash screen up. Is it skipping to PS2 emulation or something?

I'm only interested in PS1 emulation really. I'm actually pretty happy with EPSXE, but changing around video options and changing games is a pain. Does Emurayden alleviate some of this stuff?

Emurayden is basically a hack of the Connectix Virtual Game Station if you have ever heard of it. A retail PS1 emulator that was pulled from the shelves by court order via Sony. The emulator is good with ease of use and compatibility, but the graphics are pretty basic as it seems the emulator does not take advantage of certain video features such as anti-aliasing and so forth. If you want the best PS1 emulation experience (graphically) then take the time to get epsxe working optimally on your system. Or, if you just want to quickly get to the games without any real fuss, use Emurayden. It's almost easier than using a real PS1.

Ah, so that's why it's not listed on Zophar's.

@Zektor: I don't recall the name but I definitely remember the lawsuit.

From your description it sounds like switching would be a waste of time for me since I've already got EPSXE up and running. It was the previous thread (now more than a year old admittedly) that had me thinking perhaps I was making things too complicated.

As always, thanks for the info!
