If memory serves me correct tomorrow will be the 9th birthday of the Sega Saturn. For anybody who is a Saturn enthusiast I encourage you to play your favorite Saturn titles tomorrow and reflect on the past 9 years. So much has changed since then. Happy birthday Sega Saturn, I still love you!

Yeah, tomorrow I'm only going to play Saturn games...

I wish I would have gotten one on launch day, but when you're seven years old $399(I think it was) is a little out of your price range.

Is it the anniversary for sure?
I don't know, I have never really been able to get into the saturn? Don't know why. I love pretty much everything from sega.
Anyways, tomorrow, I will be breaking out some of my saturn favs. that I do like and play through them.
(Duke Numkem, Tomb Raider, Daytona USA, Virtua Cop, Sonic R!!)

Hey, sorry to be off topic, but how is Duke Nukem 3D on the Saturn(I just ordered it from Ebay). And I was wondering what I have to look forward too? Also how is it compared to the PS1 version?(thats the only one I have at the minute, and it's all scraped up).

Thanks.

i'll be firing up some Norse By Norsewest: The return of the lost vikings. Damn, that game ROCKS on saturn.
fire up some virtua cop.........virtua fighter remix...can't forget panzer dragoon 2 zwei.

oh, while we're on saturn, am i the only person who immensely prefers the 3d controls? i bought four of em new in boxes 2 months ago when i got saturn and sold the "original" saturn controller off cheap cuz i wouldnt use it...that 3d controller is one of the best controllers i've ever used even in d-pad mode.

Thanks.Dude.. It's like the best version ever. And the framerate is top notch compared to other PC conversions on many of the days systems. You'll like that one.

Never played the PSX one, though. Actually, which one is the one based on DN3D?

The 3d controller is nice but I don'y have much use for it cause of the lack of good games that make use of it.

not surprising ed, it's the same rarity as PDS but not NEARLY as pricey.....took me 2 months to track it down on ebizzle.

I looked it up in the DP online....r5(Same as pds) value $15. that's about right, thats what i paid before shipping. I HIGHLY reccomend it.
oh and i saw a reply above here somewheres that someone didnt like the 3d controller because not many games work with it; actually i've found a lot of games work with the 3d; panzer dragoon 1 and 2, sonic 3d blast, soviet strike....
just flip the switch to 3d and give it a shot; if 3d doesnt work, the controller works EXCELLENT in d-pad mode which works with every game i have, although i only have about 25 saturn games :\
saturn rocks. i'm not just praising it because its the 9th anniv.
Of the systems of that generation(saturn, ps1, and n64) I will DEFINIETLY give my vote to the sega saturn, both on the controller and the coolness of the games. While i generally do not care much about graphics, I will say that the graphics on saturn are far better than ps1, and while n64 *may* have sharper visuals, i'll still vote for saturn due to the screwtendo 64's odd controller and the fact that n64 nearly drove me away from gaming. Long live the saturn......if you'll all excuse me i'm gonna go ebay for some saturn games. Time to get area 51 and duke nukem...ah, if only nuclear strike had appeared on the saturn instead of n64.

Well, today is the day...To play only Saturn games and think about how awesome the Saturn was, and still is. Also I agree about the graphics, although sometimes not as sharp as PS1/N64 games, I think Saturn graphics have a much cooler "retro arcade" look to them, with lots of bright colorful colors, ect. Making Saturn games like NiGHTS, Fighters: Megamix, VF2, ect. Look great.

Anyway, here is my lineup for today...

-Fighters:Megamix, I've already sunk more time into this then any other Saturn game, I love it. So this will probably be my most played of the day.

-Panzer Dragoon, How could you not play this classic today? I love everything about it, The graphics, The music, Also the fact that the game can be pretty challenging at times on Hard Mode(which always makes for an exciting gaming expeiriance(sp?) )

-ClockWork Knight, I never did beat this one, I always turned it off in fear of breaking something in anger. For some reason I've always had a hard time with this game. :embarrassed:

-Daytona USA, Sure it's a bad port, but it's another one of those that is a must play today.

-Hyper 3D Pinball, impressive 3D graphics, and madly addictive gameplay. I play this almost everyday, so of course I will be playing it today.

-Virtua Fighter 2, I haven't really played this in a long time(do to having Fighters: Megamix), but I still think this one is worth a play today.

-Virtua Fighter:Remix, I don't really care for this, but I gotta play it today, so I can get the whole "Launch Day" feel.

I love me some saturn game but I have no time to play.Back in the day I would import all the 2d fighters that used the ram cart .That setup was cool !

I remember I wanted a saturn at launch but could not affor one till I found one used for $75 with the 3 game pack.

Still my dream system is the neo geo! I will own a cap or gold setup one day. :P
