Howsabout some linkage on that network adapter part?
All I can find is this & no mention of the additional stuff. Giving all the extras just seems un-Sony-like.

Cool. It's really strange that the price for the pack with the adapter & without the adapter are the same.
They should've dropped the adapter-less version to $129.

Hunh. I wonder how much of this has to do with the fact that EA will be putting their sports franchises on Xbox Live? While I'm sure that Sony wouldn't say so, that was a pretty huge announcement for Microsoft to make, as people purchasing a new system to play an EA Sports title would have had the same game, with the cheaper system being the place where the game looks better and no other real differences.
While I do not consider myself to be a fanboy, I think that is interesting timing to say the least.

Funny. I saw a loose but complete PS2 with a copy of Gran Turismo in the red case for $149 at a thrift today. Of course, the lady behind the counter was also trying to convince me to buy a loose but complete Dreamcast for $36.

And it's STILL too expensive. :/ Maybe when it goes down to $100, then I'll finally get a US PS2.

Boooo. God damn fucking Boooo.
We already bought one. $179.99 for the system itself.
Boooo...
And until it comes to $50, I won't get myself one either. Only $100 more to go.

Fuckme, I was going to sell my PS2 to a coworker on payday this Friday.
With the price drop I think I might as well keep it now. Unless he is
not so informed on price changes

I'll buy one when the games aren't overhyped violence-fests and the system doesn't break down worse than a Roadster in a rally race. Until then, my Xbox and Gamecube are more than enough for this generation...

Spoon is waiting for the PsTwo. That or an actual lower price. Did the price of the PsOne with a screen drop?

That's what I was going to say. Now it'll be a lot cheaper for people to replace all those DRE PS2s. Something tells me that of their "60 million" PS2s out there, at least 10 million are probably replacements. I have a PS2 and have never had a problem, but I have to admit that I have been quite unimpressed with the game system's library. Long live the Cube.

Well, I've been waiting to get a PS2 for 2 years (ever since I had to send back my loaner copy to SCEA)... I already have quite a few games, so I wouldn't necessarily have to buy more games as I get the console.
I really don't understand why the standalone console is the same price as the combo online pack. I mean, I'm not an online gamer, but if I can get the online adapter for no extra fee, why not? At least, I could always get a copy of Champions of Norrath and join (better late than never) some of my fellow DPers for online play.
