1991 - i was in 5th grade, the talk on every one of my friends lips was SEGA GENESIS! I was told of the wonder of Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, Sonic The Hedgehog & so many other games. I was stuck in 8-bit NES land. I was lucky enough that my birthday was coming around and so i was inviting as many kids as i could and told them to only give me cash. I wanted to score enough dough to buy that Genesis. Luck was on my side and i got just enough for the system, so my grandmother chipped in enough for me to get an extra controller and a game. I showed it off to anyone and everyone that would listen. I still own that system today, with most of the games I came to purchase (lost 10 of them by trading it in for discount on PS1) and i'm slowly rebuilding my collection today.
1992 - Toys-R-Us was clearing out some of the TG-16 product. My mother bought me one with my first game, Jackie Chan's Action KungFu. I was in love with this system! It's still my favorite today. I traded it in for a Duo in about 1993 and still have the Duo along with a certain game, Dungeon Explorer II, that i bought brand new.
1994 - I saw the Atari Lynx and had to have one! I looked so much cooler than the gameboy i have come to aquire. I would show my grandma and mother how awesome the graphics looked. They were familiar with the Atari name, so they sprung the cash and bought me one. I was enthrilled with my new portable, taking it everywhere i went.
1995 - I was hyped to get a Jaguar. A vs P was the main reason for that. I just knew this system was going to bring Atari back. They would beat down the comp. I begged my grandfather to purchase it for me (as my grandmother and mother wouldn't give in) finally he told my grandmother to buy the damn toy for the kid if he wants it so bad. Thus i had a Jaguar. I still have it today (along with a Jag CD) Atari Karts was always a fav to play, as well as Cannon Fodder.
