I saved a 1951 Chicago Coin Play Ball! pinall machine from the garbage
it has the back glass, 4 legs, everything appears to be there but the wiring is definitly original and needs to be replaced but i dont really want to attempt it myself ..the only info i have on it is what you just read. so if someone could give me some more info as in what it might be worth or places/people that know how to repair these machines.

The next thing i savd from the garbage was a arcade machine. i have no clue what game(s) it is but it has a generic looking blue cabinet and has a tall and skinny monitor for controls it has one joystick and two buttons on the right hand side i dont think it is all hooked uo right so thats why i havent tried turning it on so if somebody knows how to figure out what it is without turning it on tell me please

Thanks

I wont be able to help you at all, but I'm guessing that pictures would be helpful for those that could help you...

Please do! BTW, you remind me of a guy from ClassicGaming Forums. I knew a poster there by the name of "FilthyPeasant." Not accusing you of being filthy, but the name is similar. I'm guessing you're not the same since he was from the deep South, though. Anyhow, carry on. Sort of a cool coincidence though.

Cabs from the garbage ROCK!!!

A few years back someone wheeled a Centipede cab to the curb. Needless to say its in my garage now. It powers up but it throws errors, so eventually I'll get around to buying the PCB board and replace it (I guess thats what it needs, I don't know much about arcade games). Overall its in decent shape, but if I ever got it working I will put new decals and a new marquee in it. I never realized those things were that heavy though LOL I doubt the trash guys would have even taken it

Yeah, a picture of the machine will definitely help (so many converted cabinets out there, there is no telling what you might have). I’m more of an arcade collector rather than pinball, unfortunately, so there isn’t much I could tell you about your pinball. I recommend hitting up rec.games.pinball and rec.games.video.arcade.collecting and googling through their archive for any info. Those two newsgroups are by far the best resource for the arcade/pinball hobby.

Good luck.

That coin dealy thing you mentioned kind of sounds like something I saw on eBay once, but I think that thing was more from like the 30s or 40s. Maybe you could look for something similar to what you have on eBay, it might help you identify it better.

Take a pic of the board as well as anything else inside the cab. That'll make it easier to id.

That pinball machine looks very familiar. There's this place on the coast of Washington state called Marsh's Free Museum that's filled with a lot of weird stuff (Jake the Alligator-Man, two-headed cow, shrunken head, etc.) and tourist crap, and I played a machine just like that (maybe not that exact machine, but something very similar).

Sadly, I can't give you any info about it, though. :/
