Okay, I've got a J region PS2 and a J region Xbox, purchased while I was in Korea last year. I expect them to arrive in the States in about a week. They were great for playing games that I purchased while I was over there. I've also had them modded so that they can play games that I will be purchasing for them over here (in the US). The only question is:

How the heck am I going to plug them in and use them? They've got Asian-style 220 volt plugs on them. Do I just need a physical convertor for the plug or should I get some kind of electrical convertor to "upstep" the voltage from my house outlets?

Imagine a sign on my forehead that says "clueless about electricity" and let me know exactly what I should do, please, even if involves standing on a rubber mat to keep from electrifying myself (will a dance pad do?).

Seriously, any helpful advice might be useful, so lay it on me.

Sounds like they've been modified to work in Korea. If they're Japanese outputs, your'e fine. They're almost the same voltage as the US, and the plug is the same. Korea uses something different though (different plug, and voltage) so you'll have to buy a converter.

Thanks Gaijinpunch!

Okay FYI to provide some closure for the post. I'm getting a step-up convertor from Radio Shack, special order.

This should work fine and dandy if it ever gets to me. Hopefully, someone may need to know this information and use the search function.
