A buddy of mine calls me at work yesterday and says" I just stopped in that thrift store by my place and they have some SNES games you want me to pick them up for you" Seeing I only have 2 SNES games I say sure why not. So last night talking to him asking what they had he tells me,
Speedy Gonzales: Los Gatos Bandidos ( I love that name)
Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday
Taz-Mania
Super Mario world 2 : Yoshi's Island
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the seven stars
EarthBound
And then he tells me "they also had this all white Final Fantasy V or VI for the super fara something. He didn't pick up the FF not knowing what the SF was, so I told him to check after work today and get it if its still there. He went back tonight and it wasn't where the games were.
He tells me Its a good thing you dragged me with you all the time, he said he started looking through the box of VHS tapes and at the bottom of the box there it was. He said the box is beat up, but the insert and cart look pretty good, just some yellowing.
So for a grand total of $15 I got them all.

Sorry for the long drawn out story, but I'm just happy putting up with all the complaining of draging friends shopping was worth it.

Train your friends...train them well.

LOL

That's a darn good find for SNES games, and I daresay your tactics paid off handsomely!

Yeah, you definately want to let your non-collector friends know about your addiction. I've gotten some good stuff lately from one buddy of mine.

He gave me Caveman Games, Twin Eagle, Faxanadu, and Track and Field II for the NES, Lakers vs. Celtics for Genesis, and the Super Famicom version of Street Fighter II all boxed and complete, most of them very nice copies. He just gave me all this, for free. Along with a number of empty boxes and books to old Game Boy games. Now I need to get the carts. :)

Oh, he also dropped by one night after helping a buddy of his move. He had a game they found when they were packing stuff, the guy didn't want it, so my friend picked it up for me.

Phantasy Star II, complete, including the hint book! :D

Train your relatives too!

All mine have it bored into their heads. "If you find old games, do no throw them out, give them to Jeff."

I was ranting to my Aunt Helen about how happy I was to get my Odyssey 2, and she was commenting she had something like that sitting under the stairs of her house that I was free to have, if it was still there.

So I did a little Q&A and (if it didn't get thrown out) soon enough I will score an Intellivision free of charge.

My Aunt has an Atari ST somewhere... with a load of games, that used to be my Cousins, I can remember playing on it years ago..

I asked her if I could have it and she said no because it's put away as a friend of the family told them "It might be worth something in a few years"...

Considering Atari ST's are like paving slabs here in the UK... and it's all probably in her loft... disk games get damp... then none will work....

Grrrr stingy relatives

Glad your tactic paid off there though, sounds like an ACE buy !
Unfortunatly the one friend I have who FINDS games, also collects them LOL

No booty for me..
