Sorry for dredging up that old Zero Wing reference, but I just can't think of a better way to describe this site, which lists the history of everyone's favorite shooter designers. We all know that Toaplan eventually became Cave, but who knew that the company was formed by members of Orca, the designers of instantly forgettable games like Springer and The Percussor? Who even knew about Clax, the company founded shortly after Orca disbanded?

I crave this kind of information, being the nerdy, obsessed gamer that I am. :)

Toaplan has to be one of the most distinctive designers around. Somehow all of their games, even if they play much differently, have the same look and feel. Maybe it's the puffy, 3-D cartoon look their graphics always seem to have. At least that's my impression, anyway. Look through http://www.toaplan.com/ and see if you don't agree.

yes i agree, somehow i really can identify Toaplan Games just by their look :)
