Is Manci Games Magazine accepting submissions? Are you guys looking for any type of article in particular?

There are a lot of good writers around these here parts who might be interesting in submitting something. :)

I asked about this about a week ago and was told to email them about discussing it. I did and never got a reply. :(

I know Jaysen has been slammed this week trying to get the new issue out. I'm sure he'll be on the boards soon and will respond to you. There is also a crew of writers for the mag that hang out on these boards. You should chat with them too.

Yeah, Jaysen is probably just too busy with other things to get back right away. He doesn't always get back to me right away either, so I wouldn't worry. It's not his fault -- there's a lot of work involved in putting together a magazine!

My general advice to anyone interested in getting into writing/journalism is "patience, patience, patience." If you've got talent and you keep trying, you'll eventually get through. As far as specifically getting published in Manci, remember that space is still a bit limited. It'll definitely help if you've got a good, original idea, or a specific niche you can fill.

This is probably the best advice specific to MG that someone could give. Right now, we are looking for someone to do a "RetroBrew" review or two. Any takers?

Shoot, I wish I had some homebrews to review! I've been reviewing old games for a while but no homebrews. :(

I have a few homebrews and would have no problem writing a review. If there is interest I could give a list of the games I have on hand and could review in a day or two.

I too have a pretty good collection of homebrew games and tend to buy them as they come out (when available to the general public). I have no experience as a writer but 30 odd (very odd) years as a gamer. I would love to give it a try. Is there a particular platform or game you would like reviewed? I have quite a few A2600 games but also a couple of Odyssey 2 and I have been playing the new O2 game Planet Lander using emulation.

Thanks guys, that's the type of info I was looking for. I have a few ideas (which don't involve homebrews, unfortunately) -- I guess I'll write them up, send them in, and see what happens. Thanks guys!

The magazine is dead if haven't noticed by some of the other threads in here. It was a pretty good magazine and I thought it would have more than 2 issues but it was not meant to be.
