remember games that had 1 or 2 games in the old days, and just DIED, and we're sitting here thinking, "Why the heck arent there more Golden Axe games instead of endless garbagy games like the nickelodeon rugrats games?"
Some games i wish we'd have seen more sequels to:
Golden Axe
Contra(they made em but they reek of suckitude..aside from Shattered Soldier there hasn't been a quality contra since operation C and contra 3)
Bonk! (bonk had 4 great games but bonk is dead...long live bonk)
Toejam and earl(the xbox game brought a 10 year gap to a close...)
and the top of my wish-there-were-more list... PUNCH-OUT!!!!! Lately i've been sitting here thinking how cool a new punch-out would be on the GBA....whether they made it on the nes or snes standard, it would be one hell of a game, although i'd much prefer a "mike tyson's punch out 2" over a "Super punch out 2".

River City Ransom, Bionic Commando and Kid Icarus for Nes?
WonderBoy for Master System?
General Chaos for Genesis?

StarTropics! I'd kill for a 3D version, whether it's a remake of the original or a new game. I'd settle for a GBA Classic port. Damn, that'd be sweet.
That is all.

Can't move for Golden Axe games, even if you don't count The Duel or that semi-RPG thing.
What about Vib Ribbon... maybe another music game but this time with better variety?

Kid Icarus. A SNES version probably would be as great as Super Metroid was. Totally a series that never was.

Only if they promise to include all the goodies that let you beat the game rather than recoding it so the info is just given in gameplay.
I think that is somehting that should be done SO much more often, interactivity with REAL things while playing a game; I'm surprised it hasn't been done more often, aside form StarTropics and Leisure Suit Larry 7 having scratch n sniff cards for certain places in the game, I can't think of any pther that does it.

Power Blade, from the NES. First one was pretty average but I liked it. Power Blade 2 changed the game over and was much better, different suits useful for different environments or enemies. I would like to have seen that series go on.

i'm sort of hijacking my own thread here LOL but why can't the big N get it together and give us a REAL kirby 4 instead of crap like kirby's air ride???

How about Vectorman (Gen) or Guardian Legand (NES)!
SEGA was talking about a next-generation Vectorman at last year's E3, to be programmed by Pseudo Interactive, but there wasn't any info about it at this year's E3, so it's likely been snuffed.
-- Z.
Contra(they made em but they reek of suckitude..aside from Shattered Soldier there hasn't been a quality contra since operation C and contra 3)
Contra Hardcorps for Genesis was awesome, and Neo Contra is coming for PS2.
Bonk! (bonk had 4 great games but bonk is dead...long live bonk)
Bonk was recently rereleased on GC. It was a remake, but if they're willing to do that, then maybe a sequel isn't an impossibility.
River City Ransom
It's coming for GBA.
As far as I'm concerned, It's a crime that Spanky's quest, Smartball, Monster Party, and Earthbound never got sequels.
Supposedly, Nintendo is going to release Mother 1+2 on GBA. Whether they come stateside is something else.
What about Vib Ribbon... maybe another music game but this time with better variety?
Game Science registered the name Vib Ripple, so maybe that could be it? I don't know.

Vectorman was canned, that's why there's been no info. :(

Didn't that happen months ago? (They also re-proposed Mother 3 at the time, but there's been nary a word since, I think.)

I was, waiting for starfox2 (snes) and then got the "good  " news it wasn't coming..
(Snes) Games i wanted but never got :(
Turrican 3 and 4..
Actraiser 3
Axelay 2
Plok 2
Super Bomber man 3, 4, 5, etc, etc
Secret of Mana 2
NBA JAM 3
F-Zero 2..
Just to name a few!! i Could go.. Secret of mana 2 (Us version) from what i have heard was pulled at the last minute, and it was pretty much complete! @_@
I would like a "real" 3D mario bros title. I love the challenge stages in Mario Sunshine that play like the old Mario titles in 3D. I am really sick of most 3D platform titles that make you hunt for "treasure." Fuck that, bring me an old school Mario title in 3D! DO it now Nintendo!

THE ONE, THE ONLY- RCMI said that many times, Hell, I even emailed Nintendo complaining about them ma,king Mario a Janitor and Luigi a Ghostbuster and how they should concentrate on making a NEW Mario game.
I got a reply. It told me to try Sunshine first. I did. It sucked. Now bring me a real Mario game!
I want a mario game in 3D set in the original worlds from the first three games. As if the Mushroom Kingdom and Mushroom World were real, and now we're seeing t for the first time in 3D. Mario 64 was so different. It made no sense. Nothing from the original games was present short of a few enemies. No ? blocks. No breakable bricks. None of the signature red Girder platforms. It was all different. Bullet Bill was in the game once and was boring. Bowser was a good fight, and unique, but nothing was what it should be. I'd love to have traversed Bowsers castle with white bricks, lava pits, platforms, fireballs coming down the hall, fire snake bars, all the signature stuff. Or an underground cave with blue rocks and bricks. Completely dark. Blue goombas. Everything the way it was.
But no. Will we ever get a good 3D Mario? NEW SMB is nice looking, but it's 2D made to look 3D. Nice start, but not what I'm hoping for.
SuperStar Saga seems to be the closest to a "3D" SMB game we'll get for a while. :(

Metal Gear Solid required you to flip the real life jewel case over to get Meryl's Codec number (or flip to the manual for those that rented it).
They're releasing a new Carmen Sandiego in June I think...wonder if it will come with the Encyclopedia Thing-a-ma-bob like the old days?
As for sequels/series I would kill for:
- Kaboom (mostly just updated graphics, I guess)
- Intelligent Qube (I don't count IQ Remix...that was....shit on a disc)
- Riot Zone
- Gates/Winds/Lords of Thunder
- Ninja Spirits
- Guardian Heroes / Gunstar Heroes (give me SF3:3i animation with a 4 man side scrolling game, you'd never see me again....)
- UN Squadron
- Quartet
- Magical Chase
- Among Others....

Personally I feel the Splatterhouse franchise needs to be brought to the current generation of consoles, but it needs to be done well.
SquareEnix needs to get off their duff, stop pumping out the typical fmv-bloated FF-esque eye candies, and make a sequel to Valkyrie Profile already, if not a direct sequel, something like Disgaea/La Pucelle where the gameplay is similar.
The Deception, Klaymen, and Ace Combat series all deserve new games.
I'd also like to see Sewer Shark and Ring of Red continued, but I'm probably alone in those two. :)

As I was sifting thru my PSOne games lookin for some variants I saw Tomba! and thought oh, how I miss the crazy sidequest antics of Tomba! and Tomba! 2. Since Sony's policys are anti 2D and whatnot, they killed this quikry title before it even got a chance on PS2, and it would be a killer PS2 game.
There is a sequel for Vib Ribbon in production and it is called Vib Ripple, the question is weither or not it will make it to the states. My guess is NO.
I'd Kill for a translated Mr.Mosquito 2 and Mr. Driller 2.
Oh and Funk, I'll second a Ring Of Red sequel.

The Deception, Klaymen, and Ace Combat series all deserve new games.
Like Ace Combat 5: The unsung war ?
Theres a new E3 video on the Official site (http://www.acecombat.jp) but its streaming and the only connection options are 300Kbps and 500Kbps! Which is great for my 256K ADSL
Good thing IGN has it as saveable (http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/497/497751/vids_1.html)wmv
What was this thread about again ? :P
Oh yea, I think Fighting Vipers deserves a new game. The first was great but the 2nd is rather uncommon here (so i havent played it) and i can definatley say not given the attention it deserves.
Mercs (Mega Drive) was worthy of a genesis sequal, but i dont think a new game would be able to keep the classic "mercs" feel.

As far as I'm concerned, It's a crime that Spanky's quest, Smartball, Monster Party, and Earthbound never got sequels.
Back in 2000, Nintendo Power mentioned that there was an "Earthbound 64" in the works and that it would probably be finished before the end of the year.
Somewhere along the way, someone at Nintendo must've decided "let's just put Ness in Super Smash Bros., that'll be good enough.". x_x
Here's hope we'll see an Earthbound for GC, or at least a US release of that GBA game.
Spanky's Quest was a sweet game as well.
Anyways, how about a new Zombies Ate My Neighbors game? That died after Ghoul Patrol.
I would have also liked to see a sequel to Claymates for the SNES. And On The Ball.

Ooh, Klaymen. It might be worth it just to have a high-res version of The Neverhood.

Hmmm...what else...I don't know. Plok, maybe? *dodges incoming bricks*

We need a new Fantasy Zone, a true Fantasy Zone 3. same basic gameplay, all enemies are hi-res sprites, BG's are 3D, but game stays 2D.
Just stay true to the series, but maybe add a couple forced scrolling rounds and take Opa-Opa under water and to outer Space. Otherwise, keep it exactly the same.
oh, and it needs that trademark Fantasy Zone "soap opera" story line to it, with a surprise ending as always.

Games I wanted to see get made into a series...
Mr. Bones(Saturn) This game is AWESOME! Great graphics, challenging gameplay, Cool main character, and it hardly ever gets repetitive. Mr. Bones is an underrated classic, that deserved to be made into a long running series on the Saturn and Dreamcast!
Twisted Metal(PS1) Sure this got tons of sequels, but they all sucked. TM1-Great, TM2-AWESOME!, TM3-Crap!, TM4-Decent, TM:SB-LAME!, TM:B-Not Bad. I'm still waiting for a Twisted Metal game that can match the awesome secret filled gameplay of TM1 and 2.

Rastan Saga was one of my favorite platformers. We got one sequel that was flat out terrible, and a 3rd that wasn't a bad beat-em up. That was years ago though, and the 3rd was never ported to a console.
Keio Yuugekitai - I'd take a 2D or 3D one
Princess Crown - same as above

Neo Contra is great. In fact, I'm convinced that it's Treasure. Seriously.
As for Punch-Out!!, you don't want a GBA sequel. You want it on the DS.

Pokemon
I know, I know...it's still alive and kicking...but not for long if they don't move the series forward any. I want a true 3D pokemon RPG game. Just like the original Gameboy game, but in 3D. How HARD is it for Nintendo to understand that this would sell? I mean, we don't need Channel, Stadium, Colloseaum, Snap, Hey You Pikachu! and I don't want to see any more Red, blue, green, sapphire, ruby, yellow, gold, silver, pink, orange, doo doo brown colored Game Boy games.
I want a TRUE 3D POKEMON GAME FOR MY GAMECUBE! Maybe then the entire franchise my spark my interest again. AND NO CONNECTIVITY BS EITHER!
that is all for my rants.

Sequals I'd Like to see:
1. Dragon Force (I'd be happy with a Stateside release of part 2)
2. Demon's Crest (it was cool seeing Arremer in SVC chaos, but I think it's time he gets another game)
3. Saturday Night Slam Masters (it will never happen, but a man can dream...)
4. General Chaos
5. Final Fight or Streets of Rage.
6. I'll second another old school Mario game. Nintendo you've now rehashed every Mario game on the Gameboy, it's time for a new one before you get desperate and port over Mario is Missing.

Anyways, how about a new Zombies Ate My Neighbors game? That died after Ghoul Patrol.
I think you mean that the Zombies series died with Ghoul Patrol. Keyword: with :D
At least that's how I feel about it. Zombies ate my Neighbors rocked! Such a fun, fun game, but I couldn't stand Ghoul Patrol. I didn't like it back then, and having recently given it another try, I can say I still don't like it.

hmm hey DANGER ure in luck because treasure is releasing a new Guardian Heroes game for GBA, and as for Streets of Rage, sega is coming out with a new game for xbox witch is pretty much a new streets of rage but they dont wanna come right out and say its a sequal or anything, and SPLATTER HOUSE was announced for PS2 :P
anywhos id like to see a new Fighting Vipers, Ring of Red , Shadow Run, bubble bobble , astal, just to name a few, i can go on forever
StarTropics! I'd kill for a 3D version, whether it's a remake of the original or a new game. I'd settle for a GBA Classic port. Damn, that'd be sweet.
That is all.
I could not agree with you more!!! Startropics for the Gamecube would certainly rock.
I have been saying that for years.
Without a doubt, I'd like to see another Alex Kidd game. Yes, they made a few sequals, but I haven't seen one since '90.

Bring back the Desert Strike series from Genesis
Another Vectorman would have been great too
Did they make another Comix Zone game that was always one of my favs first played it on Sega Channel
Nes games
how about Friday the 13th maybe throw in Freddy this time lol
definately another Punch-Out game(hidden feature Tyson can Bite you!!!)
Battletoads bring them back maybe to fight the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I agree about another Saturday Night Slam Masters
definately Splatterhouse
there are more but its early in the morning and we're up with the baby @_@
