Alright, so what would you guys say are the best games available for the C64? Stuff that anyone with a C64 really should have? I'd have to nominate:

Crossroads (Compute!'s Gazette type-in game)
Curse of the Azure Bonds

Alas, I never had a C64, although a friend of mine did. I remember how superior the C64 version of Maniac Mansion was to either the PC version or the NES one.

BeI've played very few of the games that most people consider great...I was always buying the 99 cent games at EB...so I found a lot of odd hidden gems, and lots of good golf games :).

My impression was that they were roughly equal, except for the music. (The "enhanced" PC version was a considerable improvement, of course.)

I've always thought Great Giana Sisters was a bit overrated too... It's a fun game and all, the music is good, and the levels are well designed... but the game has tons of bugs, some truly evil jumps, and for some reason, I have a hard time thinking so highly of a game that is such a blatant ripoff of another game.
