I recently picked one of these up as I remember hearing someone mention that they were good for NES games... so, I got it, hooked it up, and didn't have any sound. Is this normal?

In case you didn't know, the volume control is in a strange spot (inside the door on the bottom)

Yep--I've tried it at the lowest and highest points possible.

If it has a headphone socket, see if it works. If there's sound, it's time to change the speaker.
