Looks like there are three different monsters that came in the set... yet another variation to collect for for the NES

Huh, that's cool that there were variations on the free monster. When I got my copy of Monster In My Pocket, I got the orange colored variation.

I wonder how it was packed in there. Maybe within a recess of the foam block in the bottom of the box?

you know this is an interesting topic. I always have wondered about stuff like this.
Another one is the N64 game Micro machines... on the box is says it comes with a free micro machine (well on only some of the boxes). Anyone know what it looks like?
Does anyone know of other video games that came with toys packaged inside them.
Also... in the monster in the my pocket game where the hell did the toy figure fit in the box? was it a special styro-insert or something?

Indeed. The foam block is shorter than most, making room for the figure. Mine is green.

Gauntlet Legends for the N64 came with a little metal figure, a la table top role playing games. I don't know if there were variants (I don't think there were), but mine was the warrior, holding up his axe.
I'm pretty sure this was exclusive to the N64 version of the game, as the PSX and DC versions wouldn't have had room in their jewel cases.

Do you have any pictures? Is there anywhere on the box that says action figure or something? curious, because mine doesn't say anything of that nature.
