Since we had a topic about really difficult video games, I thought it would be natural to go to the other side of the spectrum, and take a look at some easy video games.
My vote goes to Starfox 64.

Castlevania. With some practice, you can beat it on one life.
... LOL
That was half-joking, but the game is fairly easy to me nowadays. Seriously, I consider Hyperzone for the SNES to be a veritable breeze. The very first time I played it, I went through it, beginning to end, without continuing once.

Color A Dinosaur.
LOL
No really...
Where's Waldo for NES, I know it's kinda unfair, but the game is just WAAAAAY too easy. It's almost like they said "add not challenge at all, no replay value, no nothing...make it suck!"
And thus, the game was born.

Any game with unli, ited continues where you pick up where you died. Guerilla War for NES comes to mind... GREAT game tho!

My vote would have to go to the original Super Mario Land for Game Boy. Maybe I've just played it a lot, but I just skate right through it.

Yeah Starfox 64 was pretty easy. I didn't beat it but I got to the second to last level really easily. Pokemon red and Blue were easy, too. Super Smash brothers was kinda easy. Final Fantasy X, which I am playing right now, hasn't shown me any difficulties....

Hum....well, many games I had problems with at one time I can sail through perfectly these days....I'm trying to think of a game that WAS easy.
Well, I thought POW was pretty easy -- so was Ikari Warriors 3.
I'll agree that most of the Final Fantasy games -- and MANY RPG's -- are easy, espeicly if you don't bother on the optional/side stuff and you've been playing RPG's for a long time. There are exceptions, of course.

Sly Cooper! Great game, but too easy. I have heard the next one will be tougher. I hope so.

Stimpy's Invention for the Genesis. I beat that thing the very first time I ever tried to play it when I was twelve.

Felix the Cat for the NES. Played thru it yesterday from start to finish without breaking a sweat! It's still a great game though, and easily one of the best licensed games I've ever played.

On the flip side many of the extra side thingies in most later Final Fantasy games are downright impossible (or extremely tedious) to do. But they add that crap to sell guide books.

My votes go to Toejam and Earl 2 and Crystal's Pony Tale for Genesis. I know Crystal's Pony Tale is a kid's game but my five-year-old cousin beat it in half an hour. I really like that game, though.

My vote goes to Yoshi's Story for the N64.
Also, Super Metroid seems a little too easy nowadays, but maybe that's just because I'm so good at it. ;)

Like I said, it's NOT just Final Fantasy -- look at Xenogears, Xenosaga, Star Ocean 2, the Legend of Legia Games, and Valkrie Profile.
And I always buy the books anyway. ;)

Final Fantasy X. I really like the game, it's basically the reason I bought my PS2, to buy a next gen FF game.........BUT.....way too fucking easy IMHO. Hmmmm! Here's an orb, FULL health, summon aeon, piss it off, unsummon, repeat, FULL health.
Boss time.....how would you like to die today? That and hacking the sphere grid with nothing but strength orbs and watching yuna beat the final boss in the head with an iron staff.
And yes, you don't HAVE to do all that stuff, but it's most likely that everyone probably will. It's not hard at all to beat the strength guy with a few overdrives and get yuna up to 255 strength than have her summons murder that guy again and get tons of strength orbs. Maybe 2 hours of work tops.

Yeah, that game is veryyyy easy, i played it on my NES and i finished it without lost a life and i finished with 78 lifes... :-P
Also, i will add Mighty Final Fight (NES), Kung Fu (NES), Super Mario land (GB) and Doom (32x), no one more comes to my mind now, but i know there are a lot more...

The Punchout games were really easy once you Memorized the attack patterns. That goes for most beat em ups too.
McDonald's Treasureland for the Genesis was a breeze, but that didn't really come as a surprise.
