Anyone ever seen a NES controller like this?

Yep, I have one. Just recently picked it up at a yard sale with an NES.

Huh. Those look cool. Are they offical? The only one's I've seen are the regular and the other ones that look like they go together with the toploader.

Looking at the picture, it looks like it's just made from a thin sheet of plastic. Is that the case, or are they soild?

I got my controller for $2.99 at gamestop. Controller works fine?

looks official, does it say nintendo about the 2 turbo buttons? or does it say turbo. Ive seen many different nes controllers, but never this one.

I don't remember ever seeing an official controller that looks like that. I'd say it's third party. Also, it does look like it's made of thin plastic. Weird looking. Looks like you could break it while using it if you weren't careful.

Says "Turbo" above the buttons.

I've got that controller, bought it brand new back in the day. Believe it or not, it's still the only controller I use to play my nes. By that fact alone I'd guess it was made by nintendo :)

Yup, I've got that one as well (picked it up from a Funcoland years ago for, like, 99 cents). I've always been curious who made it, so if this topic can clear that up... Um, good.

that looks pretty damn cool, I have never seen one. Looks like it very well could be official, but I doubt that it is.

Does it have the nes model number and the "made in japan" on the BACK of it? If not, it's probably a 3rd party controller.

Definitely third party. I don't own one, but if I had to guess, I'd say its made by Beeshu, given the hole in the middle of the d-pad. It serves as an attachment for a small knob to make an "arcade" style stick. Real common in Beeshu controllers.

Though, Beeshu usually labels their stuff with their own trademarks, not some generic "turbo" logo...

I'll let you know whom made it tomorrow.

I had one as a kid, pretty sure that's not a hole but a dimple on the D-pad with some dirt in it. Definitely third party, sure didn't last me too long.. maybe a year.

Yeah, that's some controller alright.

Ive seen one laying in a pile of 3rd party controllers at some store so based on that I'm prettyshure it also 3rd party.

No way it's nintendo brand without having the nintendo logo on those grey stripes in the middle on the front. Simple as that.

I use to have one of those.

My friend has one that i've been borowing for like 6 months now(he no longer has an NES). It is indeed a 3rd party, there is a hole in the middle of the d-pad(looking at it right now), and no "made in japan" product number or any writing at all on the back. But i must say it's a pretty nice controller, my friend has used it for years, and i have used it a bit lately. It's nice, the buttons work well, it's pretty sturdy, and made of HARD plastic...

I am pretty sure it's a HIGH FREQUENCY controller made/sold for Toys R Us, because I have the same exact one. I can't stand the thing. That rimming on the outside sucks, the buttons stick. It sucks. Though the turbo is nice...

I never actually seen this NES cotroller before until now. I think I rather stick to the old fashion NES controller. :D

Ironically enough, I bought one of these at Toys R Us a long time ago, and it was the only piece of new VG hardware I've ever purchased that didn't work. When I plugged it in, it would just start doing random stuff, and the NES would crash. I remember this controller came in a bright yellow package. I was thinking it was Nyko but High Frequency could definitely be it.

How sure is sure? I've seen it around as well and I actually have one very simalier (looks exactly the same), cept the cord is coming out the side. I know that both of these controllers do not have any indication of who made them printed on them, themselves, so if you could confirm this with a box or packaging that'd be great.

I was not 100% sure but I just dragged the damn controller upstairs from my basement and it IS a High Frequency controller, Toys R Us used to carry this brand or still do? I remember when this was purchased, it was High Frequency, and even maybe 5 years ago these cheapo controllers were in the clearance bins in mass. There is no text on the back of the controller or even on the cord itself, you are right there. There's 5 screws though haha I admit I am quite surprised there is no note of a company making this on the controller at all. The top of the cord has large circular crap thing at the top in the center, unlike the original NES controller which was simply the cord coming out of the top, which was wrapped around a few loops in the inside so it didn't tug and pull/move around.
