A seller at a flea market ,pawn shop etc sells carts for game store prices?I went to a flea market and this guy had tons of nes games but he was sellin them at gamestop prices.I asked him if they were indeed gamestop priced and he said yes.I said why?theyare all sunbleached from being out here for so long .Of course he had no answer to my question and would not take lesser offers for the games. Now when I go I taunt him everytime askin if he wants to take my offers since the same games have been there for a year now.

If he doesn't want to sell them at a reasonable price then screw him. You'll just laugh every single time you come by and he still has the same damn games. I used to pick up boxed and factory sealed games from a guy at the swap for 5 bucks, then 2.50 when he was closing up shop. God how I wish I had cleaned the place out when he was closing up. It didn't really hit me at the time his half off sale was pretty much him closing up shop. DOH.

there is a Flea market in my town that will sell ANYTHING, King vitamin cereal from the early nineties, atari games for 5 dollars with no labels on them, I think the dust on the games cost extra, but to top it all all of the comics are bent half way down the middle, even ones with boards in then, from jerks latting their kids run crazy, but a friend and I did pick up a New sega satern and atari 2600 for 15 dollars apiece, still in the box with the tape not broken, but I did have to hear the same awful religious songs on repeat and the owner follow us on his electric mobility making sure we didn't steal any of his unlabeled VHS.

Yeah, I love it when they're selling newer systems that way too. Umm... let's see, I can go to EB Games or Gamestop and get it for the same price or cheaper and it's guaranteed. Or, I can buy it from some guy I don't know at a flea market and flip a coin as to whether it's any good or not. Hmm.. decisions decisions....

Amen to that!

Personally, what has been PISSING me off lately is a few pawns around here decide to pick and choose a few of there PS2 games that come in and raise them up to gamestop prices. They'll have Castlevania for 10.00, Madden someyear for 10.00, Blowout for 10.00...Ohhh, Final Fantasy X-2 (with side label up in a row with all the others)...lemme take a look at that please.

*takes game out of case*

*huge red sticker says 29.99*

29.99! Wha!, nevermind...I can buy it new for that. You know, being that this one is scratched and doesn't have a manual. :o

They think DVD box sets are gold also. I remember when they got the entire current Friends releases in. They were quick to slap a 29.99 tag on those also, not mentioning that these were in terrible shape, and that's about the store price.

I'm starting to hate pawnshops.

Pawn shops are simply a fence for stolen property. That is why you see such outrageous prices on their games; they are not in business to sell games. That is simply a "legit" part of their inventory.

At this time we have so many options for places we can buy our games. There's no reason to "hate" pawn shops, Gamestop, or eBay, or anywhere else. When you order something off a restaurant menu, do you choose what you want to eat, or dwell on the choices you dislike (and how much they cost)? Vote with your dollar. If you don't have a dollar to vote with, then hate the fact that you don't, not the store.

Yeah the Pawn shop by my place overprices their CD games too.
You want that Genesis game... 5 bucks, you want that CD only copy of sewer shark... 20 bucks. Yeah I'll pass thanks.

Heh. Actually, the pawn shops in my area have been my main source for used games lately. My favorite has one set price for each console: $1.99 for NES, $5.00 for SNES, $7.99 for N64, $10.00 for PSX and Gameboy, and $14.99 for GCN, XBOX & PS2.

Just the other week I got Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana for $5.00 each.

I do despise those that charge gamestore prices for their games at the fleamarket, though. There's a guy at the fleamarket near me that actually has GameStop price stickers on his games.

Though I "get it", I gotta ask what's the point of harassing (and yes, I said harassing) these people who have overpriced merchandise when you know every week the guy is going to tell you he isn't going to budge on his prices and, from what it sounds, you probably don't want the carts anyway? After all, if you really can get the games in better shape and cheaper else where, why waste your time with "flea market guy" in the first place and it's not like you're ever going to say anything to change their mind. These are the kind of people who would rather die with tons of unsold merchandise than lower a price.

I know I say this everytime something like this comes up, but these people NEVER have anything special game wise. It's a lot easier to just roll your eyes at them and move on. I can think of so many more productive ways to spend my time than giving some flea market guy greif over his Gamestop priced games.
