I want to congrats you on a great ummmmm.....find. You got a good deal on it. Honestly I would consider a true find "in the wild" and not on ebay. I dont in any way want to take away from what you found on the net, its just people like me and others on this site, find that a true find would be considerered found "in person", espically one I would consider the "find of the year"

That's a decent pick up, kinda high for it IMO, but I got you beat on find of the year....

Well since I "found" it on ebay it is a "find"

Now if I said "find in the wild" it would be something I found in the wild

I think someone is a lil bitter because he paided 2 or 3 times what I just did

How is a complete Stack Up and complete Gyromite for under 70$ be too high?? Complete Stack Up usually goes for 150-250

Nice with your 2 sealed games, but I think I got that beat with 2 Stadium Events for 5$ each

The "$5 Stadium Events" caused a chill to run up my spine as this all sounds verrrrry familiar. I've got my flamewar-stompin' boots on and I'm watchin' this thread. Let's keep it civil gang. Please.

I'd hardly consider anything on eBay to be a "find" either. I mean, how hard is it to type somethinhg into a search box? (and don't bother labelling me as 'bitter' either. I couldn't give a flying rats ass about NES stuff.)

Yeah, it's a decent haul, but there have been several better ones already this year.

Not trieing to start anything  but cmosfm wins in the find of the year depo. Anywho a real find is found in person not threw he use of a search button. Rather it is from hard work and (here in az) sweat that a find is aquired. Plus good "finds" are usually cheep.

Is this going to be one of those threads where somewhere on page 2 or 3 we read "Well, I thought it was Stadium Events and they have them there all the time?"

I also concurr that finds happen in the wild. Occasionally a "find" can happen on ebay if you pick up a bunch of common Atari carts on ebay to find out that there was Chase the Chuckwagon or Crazy Climber in there.

This thread doesn't look like it's going down the right path, maybe I'm about to add fuel to start the flame but I gotta say something.

First of all, your attitude is NOT cool. We're a nice group of people over here, and just because we disagree with what you posted theres no reason to go saying "HAHA Clown".

Second, A find is something you actually go out and hunt for, you can call this a DEAL if you want, but it's no find.

Third, bitter because I "paided" 2-3 times what you did? no sir, I would never pay as much as you did. If I were to find that out in the wild, or even on eBay, the most I'd pay is 30.00...that's including shipping...eBay prices are ridiculous. Contrary to popular belief, most game collectors do not spend all there time scouring eBay and paying eBay prices....we hunt our deals in the wild.

As for the Stadium Events, if that is true, CONGRATS...you deserve it. But I, along with anyone else in here, must have proof before we can believe a claim like that. Don't take that offensively, that is actually a comment, saying that you deal would be amazing if it is true.

That is all, take is as you will.

well contrary to everything else, congratulations. I'm sorry but I do believe you can have good finds on the internet, there are tons of other places other than ebay that you can buy and trade with other people. And if it's something you really want why not pay a little bit high for it?

Congrats..but that's a bit damn high for those 2 games, isn't it?

Does that auction ONLY include the BOXES. I do not think that the game or the parts for the game come with that auction. That would make sence to me for the price.

I hope not for your sake.

Daria

I think finds on ebay would constitute finding an auction with a picture and a rare game not listed in the title or description. Or spelled so horribly you couldn't easily find it in a search engine. Or say Panzer Dragoon Saga with a $25 BIN.

I'd consider stuff like that ebay finds...

But what you have there, while it might a justified value to pay for both games it's nothing spectacular and Cmosfm definately has you beat on find of the year.

no, "The games are in original boxes and include instructions."

the auction says contains games boxes and instructions, I bet it doesnt have all the peices for ROB. If it does, then nice deal, if not, then maybe your find of the year, but I would definately not pay that much unless they are complete.

If he had found these games at a flea market or a thrift store for a few bucks each then that would be the find of the year. He didnt even get them in some ridiculously low Buy-it-Now auction. I fail to see what is so great about this in any way. It belongs in the "Post your recent winnings" thread in the eBay insanity forum and thats it.

What crawled up the collective ass of DP today? What's with all the attitude?

It's definitely not the find of the year, but it's a damn good price. Complete Stack-Ups can go for about $200, even complete Gyromites can fetch a good amount of money, so he paid WAY less than what they're worth. Why do people think he paid too much? I don't get it. For those confused over what he got, read his first post carefully - he got the complete games with ALL the pieces.

Cmosfm, we all know you made out awesome on that deal, but if you don't constitute eBay purchases as a "find", then I can't constitute your deal as a "find" either. A friend sending you some boxes filled with games to sell on eBay is not finding games in the wild. Personally, I think a find is a find no matter where it's from, but if you're going to split hairs over it, then you should know that your deal is not a "find" either.

As for the Stadium Events, all I know is that Pa_nes_ian has an excellent reputation in the NES community. I don't think he'd lie or BS about it. I'll admit that I don't have proof, but I know who he is and I've even dealt with him before. He also has one hell of an NES collection, including all the really rare and highly valued PAL titles like Mr. Gimmick and Rodland.

its like "cool" you cant declare yourself cool, somebody else has to say you're cool. you could have "this is my top find of the year" instead and that would have changed the whole tone and group reaction. then people would say "thats nice stuff" or "cool deal" and we could have all been happyhappy. find of the year, geesh its only july, 1000s of collectors out looking every weekend...wait n see :)

If I posted a thread in off-topic explaining how extremely huge my male member is, and it turns out it's only like 6", would you defend me by talking about how I satisfy your needs anyway?

God-DAMN-it. I said "please" and everything. :o And before anyone else leaps in to defend him, pan_nes_ian was banned long ago from these-here-parts. Shompee is, apparently, his return. Or was....
