I searched, and the last real Pikmin thread is from 2002, so rather than revive such a short dead thread, I'd start a new one.

I've been playing this again recently, finally bought it back after two years since I traded it in, and I forgot how fun it was.

But I'm curious, it does say not ALL parts aren eeded to lift-off after 30 days, is it a certain number? Or do I need to get certain parts? What does this mean really? I'm on day 20 and have like 13 parts left or so, and I know I'll never get all of them.

Hell, I'll never get 29 to see the fifth level. There is a fifth level, right? I assume it appears when you get 29 parts. Guess I'll never see it. What's it like?

Anyway, I can't wait for Pikmin 2. Nintendo says August 30th, which seems like forever away. I am tempted to pay $30 more and import it. Nah, not really, but it really is tempting especially with the new code to allow the game to be English.

Anyone have tips for Pikmin? The day never seems ,long enough to do everything you want. Especially the parts that are far away and guarded by enemies that either swallowed it or are big. Like that spider in level 2. I had to distract him while my other group of Pikmin snuck the part past him. That was fun. And that bird, man did I let him have it!

But geeze, I hate when that flying enemy grabs my Pikmin and plants them in the ground somewhere else. Annoying. And those stupid bugs that destroy my bridges.

What happens if you beat the game with not enough parts? Do you have to START AGAIN? Or do you get different endings based on what you gather?

Poor blues, for the longest time I had barely enough. I had to sacrifice a day in an earlier level to build them up to over 100. Still not enough, especially for the fourth level. All the water in that one and the one before it.

Ah, Pikmin.. Reason #3,247 why Nintendo will always be around... ;)

Here's hoping for a Pikmin DS!

First off.. Pikmin DS would rock.. Imagine dragging a bounding box around a group of Pikmin with the stylus and then tapping where you wanted them to go on another portion of the screen. Such fun!

I don't have the links, but I know that Snapdragon_64 (http://geocities.com/snapdragon64/) encoded a video in which he got all 30 parts in a staggering 9 - yep NINE - days. I think you can download the video somewhere online, or you can get a DVD from http://tomatoman.net/pikmin/

I'm not trying to shill these DVD's or anything, because I had no idea you could get one until about 5 minutes ago, but I've competed in various things with Snapdragon, so I know he's cool.

I saw a complete copy of Pikmin at a Goodwill back in November for $9.99. The case and manual were next to a bunch of VHS movies and a tag on the game said the disc was behind the counter. I didn't own a Gamecube back then, and didn't have any interest in owning one until a few months later, so I had no interest in the game. If only I knew... :frustrated:

I wish I could have found it at a Goodwill after I got a Gamecube, not before.

Well, crap. So many of these are so hard to get, I'm afraid I won't win. Hell, I was gonna go for the Seat cushion because it seemed easier to get than the rest!
