I put a photographic journal of my experience at E3 online. Lots of great pictures thanks to the help of Don Rogers and Larry Anderson. As a bonus there's even a complete page of booth babes (this is Don Rogers' specialty) :)

Please take a look, it's a lot of fun.

It was easily the best booth at the show, as a lot of time and effort went into getting it all together, and it showed. Kudos to you guys for an excellent job.

It's odd seeing the hall in an empty state. I can't imagine that place without a swarm of people around.

GREAT PICS!! thanks for putting them up!

Amazing how much fun we have playing older games today, the faces of guys standing in front of a TV speak volumes of curiosity, re-dicovering and experiencing first game experiences.

What I liked in particular about the design and set-up of the older systems is that they are presented not only as a thing of the past, but in a very professional design demonstrate that the games are modern, timeless and are very well alive. A great mix of old and modern appeal.

It would be interesting to know what younger game developers took with them home just looking, playing, and experiencing classic gameplay; maybe even old effective game ideas find a transformed way in modern game design.

One thing is for sure, with such a great promotion the interest in classic games increased, and lots of new game collectors were born during these days visiting the booth.

It's amazing what games became in the last thirty years. From a kid's toy to an established entertainment industry, and the present success ensures that even the past becomes established, recognized, researched, hailed, admired, and allows a very important nostalgic look back which acts as social glue for an increasing depersonalized gaming-"community" in the Internet era.

Lendelin, I couldnt have said it better myself, you hit the nail on the head...I too noticed the people who had these looks on their face's like they'd never played an atari, or an intellivision. It's very cool to see people really enjoying things they thought they'd never do, or pehaps never WANTED to do. Great booth, guys. I'll try to make it down to E3 next year, and i hope i see the DP crew there :D

Quoting from Gamespy :

"What's really amazing about these old machines is how many people, in the middle of a convention filled with the latest hardware, were lined up to play some of these oldies. There was also a whole gang of people sitting on a couch going nuts over Atari Combat."

Yeah. I realized that my priorities were fucked up when one of the first things I did at E3 was play Bonk's Revenge.

How's about posting a scan of one of the many pamphlet/flyers I see stacked up everyplace? I'd love to see the propoganda!

And...er....those CGE/E3 Musuem t-shirts you guys are wearing are certainly nice. It sure would - ahem - be cool if those were - er - available for purchase. Or something. :D

What must one pay to go to E3? Not including crossing the entire continent, having to pay for gas, food, and hotels, of course ;)...In other words, how mcuh is admission?

E3 is an industry event, not open to the public:

However, if you're "industry", here are the prices:

A bit late posting this cause I spent an extra couple days in LA on vacation to recover from the soul-sucking E3. Anyway, the CGE was an awesome display, especially like the rarities. Sorry I missed out on the big breakfast, but I had a prior commitment to attend another meeting and was somewhat exhausted.

It was really cool meeting Joe after all these years and seeing John Hardie and Leonard Herman, not to mention all that cool stuff. This was definitely inspriring and a pleasant surprise for this hardened E3 veteran - especially liked the coin-ops, some of which I haven't seen in nearly 20 years. Great presentation, though I was surprised to see the actual store displays for the CV and Astrocade. Congratulations on a great job by all and a nice teaser for the real CGE in San Jose.
