I really dig the FDS.

I was wondering who else here owned one and or what you thought of them. I can never find enough good convos on the FDS. I own a FDS. I am waiting for a boxed FDS and Twin Fami to arive from the Phillipines.

I have a FDS. Pretty neat thing to have, too bad my Famicom got shot, though. Oh well, at least it gives me an excuse to get that Twin Famicom too. :)

I have a couple of fds related things and I'm working on getting a twin famicom from somewhere and maybe one of those fds replacement belts.

i HAD a fds, but sold it for way too much money a few years back and spent it on a sharp twin famicom, which is a unit that plays famicom carts AND fds games. it's kinda cool looking, has two controllers attached to it, and works like a dream. now i need a hell of a lot more games (i only have about 20 disk games and around 90 or so famicom titles, :embarrassed: )

And no wires or box, just the console..
It did cost me 500 yen, so it wasn't bad deal.. ^.^

I have nearly 50 disks but sadly no FDS anymore... all this stuff is much too fragile. Nowadays, I play FDS game... on my PC. I know this is sad. I still buy disks though and, as I mentionned a couple of weeks ago, a brand new FDS section is coming to my side with game reviews. I hope you will like it !
I have no plan to buy a new FDS in the near future though... they're a bit pricy nowadays, especially when you also have to pay $50/$60 shipping from Japan :(

I have a FDS and was very lucky to get it in the condition I did. I got it on ebay and the owner printed out the sheet showing where he sent it to Nintendo of Japan to get it fixed. I bought it shortly therafter and it has been working like a charm. If I remember correctly, I think all-in-all (shipping included) I got it for $60.

I wish I had an AC adapter instead of using those pesky (and expensive batteries) but otherwise i'm very happy with it.

hey if you are looking to get rid of those disks, pm me! i have a fds and a twin system, got em both prety cheap from japan game stock a while back and they both work excellent! i usually just use the twin system since it is more convenient and i just beat the original doki doki panic (which was remade into super mario bros 2 in the us) yesterday!

I feel ya about the fragility. I got a drive and a fami twin, but I feel uneasy about using it too much. I keep them all as "collector's items" but if I want to play a game that only came out on FDS, I track down the chinese bootleg famicom cart versions for actual use.

I own a FDS.
This was one of my most wanted systems!!
I have some disks also, like Doki-Doki Panic, Nicol, SMB2 (the real one),
Kid Icarus, Zelda and F1-Race!
The loading time and the amount of times the disk is accessed is boring
in many games, but games like Doki-Doki and SMB2 justify the import!
