"City of Heroes" Players Assemble!

Just got into this game and have been digging it quite a bit (and I'm not one at all for online gaming).

I thought it would be fun to see who else might be playing so people could hook up and fight crime together.

So, if you're out there, state your character name and the server you play on. Also, if you have an idea of when you're usually on playing, that couldn't hurt either.

i am thinking about picking this game up. Can you give me some info on what you do exactly and how the gameplay works?

I'm playing on the Victory server and loving it. I have a fun group of people I play with every night, if you haven't settled into a server yet come check us out.

My heroes are:
Xevious - level 24 - magic fire/fire blaster
Gherik - level 14 mutant radiation/dark defender
Xeverik - level 12 mutant earth/empathy controller

You play this game like a crack addict looks for rocks is what you do! Mostly you run around thumping bad guys and saving old ladies from muggings before you work your way up to thwarting city wide evil plots by zombie lord arch villans or a splinter group of super powered Nazis.

i am thinking about picking this game up. Can you give me some info on what you do exactly and how the gameplay works?

The game is all combat oriented although they have posted that they will be adding non-combat oriented activities in future patches but no word on what that might be. You're fighting crime in the form of taking on various types of thugs on the street or by doing missions you receive from contacts. While on the street there are other heroes about, doing their thing, but some of the misisons you get are indoors and you get your own private instance which only people on your team may enter. There's lots of different combinations of powers to choose from and there really aren't many "gimp" combos to worry about unlike a lot of other mmpogs. Anyways, it's great fun and fast paced, but since as of now it's really just a combat oriented game some may tire of it sooner then others but like any mmpog they are constantly expanding it and updating it with new content and have already announced they will make it more robust to give people other things to do when tired of fighting crime.

Yeesh! A level 24 and a level 21? I'm but a lowly 12 and now suffer from Level Envy.

Were you in Beta? Or are you just playing every chance you get? I'd love to play more, but things like work and trying to get the next issue together slow me down. It's addictive though.

I'll look forward to when you can do other things besides fight crime. City of Villains expansion could also make it interesting. Forming teams and running missions is terribly fun right now though.

I'm also having a blast in City of Heroes. I have a level 14 defender (the Silver Spaz) on the Pinnacle server. Superheroes and videogames for me is the best of both worlds, and they merge flawlessly in CoH.

I don't really have the time right now to get into how amazing this game is. And so far, the company that runs it has done just about everything right. Unlike another MMORPG-maker that shall remain nameless *cough EA/OSI cough* ...

CoH is my first MMO and GOD is it good. Its like GTA on steroid: a HUGE city that has a true city feel...I'll never forget the first of experienceof beating up a thug, his running away because he was getting trumped and he hopped on a garabage can, then on a fire escape, and followed him up to duke it out on a roof :) The create - a - hero is beautiful and the action is fast and furious, especially in team missions. I can be found on several servers...

The idea of MMORPG's never really interested me either, but being a huge comic fan I had to try CoH out and I love it. I just got it, so I'm kinda week now, but I'm playing every chance I get

Um, but if we decide to game together who should we arrange this? Everyone creates new characters on neutral servers? Or do we go to the server where the most DPers are already at?

i was thinking we can have use a single server for all the dper's and play on that. to help with the organization i figured we can have a thread dedicated to posting our new character names (regularly updated mainlist in the first post) so we know who to look out for and we could use it to arrange times to play as a group (or small teams or whatever). eventually once people start hitting level 10 we can make a super team just for us.

if anyone has any other suggestions on how to go about this please go ahead and say so. i think this is a pretty logical plan though.

to anyone interested. On the Pinnacle server i started a super group called "The P-Funk All Stars". I'm looking for 70's based characters along the lines of Shaft, Dolemite, John Travolta (from Saturday Night Fever), etc. 70's comic book characters or any fresh character with a 70's like flair, mainly disco or funk based, exceptions can be made.

I need 4 other leaders (one for every char class) a controller, defender, scrapper and tanker. I'm willing to help fresh characters level up to be on par with the others. I'm a blaster named Mahogany Jones (Pam Greir like). I'm on at any time between 3 PM and 1 AM during the week and i check the boards frequently if you'd like to have a meeting in game.

I'll be posting pics of Mahogany Jones and i'll dig up some pics to show you guys what i am kinda looking for and what the team colors and symbol look like.

alright thats no problem, i figured either you were booted or still on the phone. Anyways other than my and you (and a possible friend if i catch him on tonight) theres another member to the team named "Bozo Basher". He's supposed to be based off of some Dr Demento thing but i am very clueless on the subject and the info i found for it was based around the right time period but i'm still losed. the guys char looks a little unconventional for the P-funk All Stars but it seems to check out.

DJ, is it just me or do certain servers cause more disconnects than others? Pinnacle and Protector are becoming royal pain in the asses for me...Iget booted anytime I change zones!

Doesnt happen much anywhere else, tho...
