MODDED COLECOVISION

Up for auction is a completely refurbished and modified Coleco ColecoVision. Included in the auction are the ColecoVision game console, 2 controllers, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong JR., and Zaxxon, a power supply, and a gold-plated A/V cable. Everything is 100% guaranteed working, including console, controllers, games, and modifications.

Modifications:

1: Gold-plated, color-coded, RCA audio/video output jacks

This modification allows you to directly connect the game system to modern televisions or home theater systems. No longer are you required to use a TV/game switch, or forced to deal with blinking white sprites or audio “humming” while playing the game. This allows for the clearest picture and sounds ever available with a ColecoVision.

2: New BIOS chip installed

The original BIOS setup forced you to sit through 10 or 12 seconds of Coleco’s opening title screen when a Coleco-published game was inserted into the cartridge slot and the unit powered up. After the time delay you could then select the number of players and the difficulty. With the new BIOS chip, after the console is powered up, the instant you press one of the controller buttons the agonizingly long title screen is skipped and you continue on to the game.

Both of the modifications and the all of the refurbishing work was professionally done and installed by me. I built the A/V output circuit and installed the RCA output jacks, and I programmed and installed the new BIOS EPROM. I also cleaned and conditioned the expansion module interface port, cartridge slot, and on/off switch on the console. The controllers were completely disassembled and all direction contacts and buttons were cleaned and conditioned. Not only will this console work completely when you receive it, but it will work for many years to come.

SPECTRAVIDEO QUICKSHOT III w/BOX

This is a rare joystick controller for the Coleco ColecoVision from 1983. This joystick is for use with all ColecoVision compatible Video Games Systems including:

Spectravideo SV-300 Series Computer

Spectravideo SV-603 Game Adapter

ColecoVision Video Game System

Features: Two sets of fire buttons - four all together

Hand hugging, ultra-ergonomic grip

Built in self-stabilizing suction cups

Special “easy read” numeric keypad

Extra Long Cord

The two fire buttons on the grip perform separate functions and help make one hand video game play possible.

Corresponding to the fire buttons on the grip, the buttons on the base can be used for optional two-hand play (such as when you want to rest the fingers on your other hand.)

The hand-hugging, ultra-ergonomic grip design gives better control and lessens fatigue.

Built-in self stabilizing suction cups prevent slippage and help make one-hand play possible.

Special “easy read” keypad allows selection of all game levels and number of players.

Convenient extra long cord plugs into either the ColecoVision game machine or Spectravideo’s Adapter for Coleco Games.

This joystick comes with the box and box insert, but not the instruction manual. The box is in good condition with minor to normal shelf wear. The keypad accepts game overlays just as the original ColecoVision controllers do. The joystick itself is in 100% guaranteed working condition, and looks like it is brand new.
