Pretty recently I got a lot of 7 NES games all for $28 something. Dragon Warrior 2 was in there with the manual, and when I got the games I found out that the back was torn off, but there was a NRMT map like in this auction. Is it rare or something (I know it's not THAT rare, but is it somewhat rare)? Just wondering...

Well fropm what Ive seen, if someone is going to lose something out of an RPG its always the map. I always see "complete" copies of final fantasy or dragon warrior on ebay and its always the map thats missing. you never see the map is included but the instruction manual is gone. Personally I think that the auction you linked to is one of those flukes that went up a bit high, but at the same time i think that the map is worth more than the box or instructions are. Someone else can disagree with me though.

there are several DW2 maps, the rarest one is the labyrinth map which was mail away only through an offer if you purchased DW1

No, thats the only one I saw with a map...the cartridges by themselves only sell for like $15, with manual $25...about the map often being one of the best pieces, I agree. Expecially in good shape, since people open them and look at them and such, which is obviously going to damage them over time. I would say that the box is second most important since lots of people tended to chuck the boxes and keep the manual...

I have a Dragon Warrior II Strategy Guide. It's a small like 30 page guide. But it's supposed to be pretty rare. :-P

Thats really rad because I used to send letters to game companies all the time asking for manuals because I "lost them". Enix was very generous and sent me the maps and the fat instruction manuals for Dragon Warrior 2 and 3. And they're all still in pretty good condition. Wish I still had the map/manuals for Ys Books 1 & 2 though. Oh well...

Unfortunetely, that was well before I started gaming, in fact I don't think I started playing until like 1997 or 1998? I'm a new collector, too...and yes, most of you have quite a few years on me ;)...
