What is it? It seems to be separate from the normal release coming out. Is it a special version of the game with extra stuff? I already pre-ordered the original back in 2002, and am afraid to miss out on this. It's on GameStop.com at the top and it says it ends tomorrow at 11AM. What is it exactly?

Actually its the free shipping offer that ends at 11AM, not the pre-ordering. If thats what you were referring to.

Actually it will be coming with a second disc that has making of stuff on it, among other things. It wasnt announced until E3, so the one you preordered is just the regular version. I know that its gonna be 54.99 not 49.99. I think that you can just swing your way into your GS (that you preordered it at) and have it switched to the limited edition one. The announcement of the limited edition is what finally made me preorder it, I wasnt plannin on it, cause everywhere would have it. But i dont know if i could garantee myself a limited edition one, so preorder it is.

It comes with a bonus disc with trailers and behind the scenes stuff for Halo and Halo 2. In addition, it comes in a snazzy tin case :P

I talked to a GS employee today and he "assured" me that when I pick up my Halo 2, I will get the choice of which to buy. I will re-confirm later with the actual store I pre-ordered it from. Hell yeah, I'm taking the Tin!

I went ahead and got it, for only 5 dollars more it's worth it.

To the best of my knowledge, all Gamestop stores with any Halo 2 preorders taken prior to May 11 will receive that number of limited edition copies and at least that many regular copies, giving the customer a choice. Currently, those who did not opt in early have to drop an initial $10 to reserve the LE, rather than the standard $5.
I'm sure that it's not going to be that hard to find from a collector standpoint, it's got BIGGEST GAME EVAR written all over it. But I bet it will be pretty cool.
