I'm kinda new to the Game Boy Advance. But I would like some recomendations on what the absolute best GBA games are.

What's your top 10 GBA games?

What's your top 20?

What games should ever GBA owner at least try out for a couple hours?

Thanks for any input.

In my opinion:

Super Mario Advance 2
Super Mario Advance 3
Super Mario Advance 4
Mario Kart Advance
Golden Sun
Baseball Advance
Super Puzzle Fighter

There are a lot of other really good games but I dont have them so I cant comment. This list is just the best of my collection.

Where in Northern California are you located? I'm in Davis, which is about 15 miles west of Sacramento.

EDIT: Totally forgot about the Castlevania titles. I only have Circle of the Moon, but I'm sure that the other games are awsome, too. If you liked Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for PSX, you will like the GBA Castlevania titles as well.

I'm in Sacramento. Home of the always good, but not quite good enough Sacramento Kings.

I live in the Greenhaven area, if you know where that is.

just when you thought you were done with Mario games
then came Mario and Lugi Saga

I held out on this game for some time because I'm tired of Mario and
Sonic games, but after I read so many great reviews on Mario and Lugi
Saga I caved in and picked it up and I'm glad I did because it really is
allot of fun.

No ones mentioned Double Dragon Advance. I haven't played enough GBA to have a 10 ten list.

The 3 Castlevanias definity make it on the top 10 list.

Well, Shining Force coming in June is on my list of must haves, plus the Mega Man compilation coming sometime after that. As for what's out now, besides the Castlevanias and Mario games, check out the Legend of Zelda title, if you don't already have it on SNES, the Metroid titles, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Tactics Ogre and the Phantasy Star Collection.

Tactics Ogre
All Mario Jump'n'Runs
Mario & Luigi
Sabre Wulf
Metroid Fusion & Zero Mission
Sword of Mana
Beyblade VForce (really cool Marble Madness clone)
Double Dragon Advance
Boktai
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

Wario Ware, Street fighter alpha 3, advanced wars 2, and ninja 5-0 are all solid titles. Super bubble pop is an interesting puzzlw game and worth its ten dollar price tag. Broken sword: shadows of the templar is also an interesting point and click adventure, but not real a game.
I am just hoping for an adult themed, non sequal or port, GBA game that can capture my imagination like wario ware did.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is the BEST GBA game IMO. It's a worthy title in the Mario RPG series.

Wario Ware - by far my favorite GBA game
Metroid Zero- For some reason, I like this more than fusion
Metroid Fusion - still a great game
Mr. Driller A - This game is just addictive no matter what system it is on
Advanced Wars 2 - just a great game if you are into this type of thing
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga - Thsi is fun, but gets a bit repetitve towards the end

I need to pick up Super Mario Bros. 3: Super Mario Advance 4 this week...

What's the best car racing game for GBA?
Colin McRae Rally 2.0, V-Rally 3, or something else?

Rock 'N Roll Racing was a blast on the SNES and Genesis, and the re-release on the GBA is just as fun.

I heartily recommend picking up Bookworm, as it occupied much of my plane ride from Cincy to LA and back.

And it's fun.

My top GBA games:

- Sword of Mana (I dissed this in a thread a few weeks ago, but I picked it up again and I'm enjoying the hell out of it)
- Metroid Fusion
- Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
- Rock n' Roll Racing
- Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow

There are a few others I wanted, but after a brief run on the ol' emulator, I found they suck (I'm pointing at YOU Earthworm Jim!).

Sonic Advance, Wario Ware, Megaman & Bass, and ALL the SMB titles!

The SNES ports - Mario, Zelda, etc - are excellent, of course. We already knew that. I want to suggest a few lesser known games that I've loved to death:

Advance Wars 2
Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer
Lunar Advance
Motoracer Advance
Pac-Man Arrangement
Pinball of the Dead

These are my favorites because, not only do they play wonderfully and continue the 'ol 2D thrill, they were designed with the Advance in mind. And Pac-Man is, well, Pac-Man. All these games (except for AW2) can be had for under $15.

And, of course, I have those crazy-cool multiplayer maps for AW2 on my website. So, naturally, I'm going to say something.

Actually, Pac-Man Arrangement did not come out as a standalone, but as Pac-Man Collection (Pac-Man, Pac-Mania, Pac-Attack, Pac-Man Arrangement and Pac-Land).

Most people have praised the Tony Hawk ports on the GBA, but your enjoyment of the game depends on whether you like isometric gameplay or not. I love the THPS series, but can't stand the GBA ports because of the isometric view. If you're unsure, try it out (via emulation or by renting it).

For me, the problem isn't so much the viewpoint as much as the buttons. I just can't get my brain to wrap around Tony Hawk with two buttons. I just can't do it. But, hey, I'd rather surf than skate anyway.

I played quite a few games today, based on this thread. I'll have to second Sabre Wulf, that's some classic Rare stuff right there. I love it.

Wish I could figure out Ninja Five-0, though. This could easily be the best game of all time, but I can't find the goddam key on the very first level.

EDIT: Oh. Right. GBA has shoulder buttons too. I must have forgotten.
