View Full Version : [C64] possible game addition
Hey guys not sure exactly how you determine what was released for the Commodore 64, but I checked the Online rarity guide for Jaws and Ultima 4 and neither one came up. I have the games here so I know they were released ... but Jaws was also compatible with an IBM ... so is it strictly C64 titles?
Thanks for the help.

I know the answer to this one!
The computer/game systems are "cartridge only". Unless Mat stops sleeping or quits his day job it's going to be awhile before we have all of the diskette software cataloged.
It's on the long list of things to do but it looks like it comes right after "Retire, Move to Sunny Remote Island". :)
If you want some info on disk and tape games as well check out Gamebase 64 (http://www.gb64.com) which strive to cover every C64 game. Over 15000 so far but many still missing.

On a personal level, as I consider all formats (and I've helped out the GB64 site quite a bit too) then I wish I could do more than just carts! But it would be rather a long, long task taking me into retirement and beyond :P
Jaws - R4, $10
Ultima 4 - R2, $15 (it's fairly collectable and desirable you see)
But that's just my personal opinion here ;)
Thanks a lot guys ... for the site link too. I had no idea there was over 15000 ... wow.

And still growing... there's just under 16k currently in the database from the launch last September, but they're working on the first update which I believe will be adding at least another 1,000 or more. And there's still plenty to go, I've got 7 games ready to submit that aren't in there for example.

Plenty indeed. I quickly found 10 games from my collection not yet listed.

Care to list them so I can check them off? They might have them, but not up currently...

Okay dokey in order...
License to Kill
http://www.gamebase64.com/game.php?id=4372&d=18&h=0
Avenger
http://www.gamebase64.com/game.php?id=509&d=18&h=0
Imhotep (not Immotep)
http://www.gamebase64.com/game.php?id=3719&d=18&h=0
Roadblasters (no space)
http://www.gamebase64.com/game.php?id=6395&d=18&h=0
I doubt Toolbox will be in there as it is a utility and the database is only looking at games.
As for the others...
They still have a number of Radarsoft games "to do" so the two in question might be there. If not, then I'd ask you if you can supply images of them both for inclusion :)
As for Titanic and Terrorist, a possibility they could be already present under different names, but I'd have to check or verify images to see this. So if you able to do those as well, much appreciated.
If you can't do d64 images of disks, you can always send them to me to be converted along... anyhow I'll ask the maintainers and see what they say.
Was there anyway to tell just the US releases on that? i'm guessing I probably overlooked it.

No. Mainly because the only things of interest are getting a copy of the game and recording all the information about it. Many titles were released worldwide so it doesn't make too much difference. Certainly it would take too much time and be impossible to figure out just where each game was actually released.
A lot of games available for download from there have been PAL and NTSC fixed meaning they'll work on any C64.
