Ok, I won this auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8103092931

Obviously, the seller doesn't know what he has. (MVS? No. Phantom 1? Not needed) Paid the next day after it was over. I won a DVD from this seller a few days later. Paid for that as well (didn't realize it was the same seller). I got the DVD before the game, maybe about 6 days after I paid for the disc. E-mailed the seller, asked for my game.

"Oh sorry, it will go out today." Ugh. So he sends it media mail and I get it yesterday. 2 weeks after I paid I finally get the game. Put it in and what do I get? A title screen for freakin' Nam 75. Somone switched out the insides obviously with Nam '75 and kept Dunk Dream. Bastards!

E-mail the seller, try to explain it. I was pleasntly surprised to see he offered a quick refund after he gets the game back. Not sure what he's going to do with it now, but I should at least get a refund.

Talk about deals going bad in almost every step. x_x

Geez man, that is quite a horror story. I hate putting up with ebay hassles. My worst experience is the time I ordered an NES cleaning kit. NEVER ARRIVED. Sorry about the misfortune there. At least you'll get your money back.

Is this COMMON with Neo-Geo games? People swapping out the insides of rare games with common ones? I've never heard of any other system being subjected to this. Is it just the low print runs and high prices that cause this to happen?

I've had it happen to me with a Genesis game about 3 years ago. Bought Sonic 3 from a local game store and it ended up being Sports Talk Baseball. I don't know about it being common with Geo games, but I guess it happens.....at least to me. LOL

My phantasy star 2 cart has some other shitty game swapped in the cartridge.

I bought Lethal Enforcers Sega CD off eBay.

Auction stated it was complete with gun, manual, disc, box and tray.

Well, the box, tray, game in jewel case (Normal case.) and gun arrived. No manual. Plus, the gun didn't work.

And this was over two months past the buy date. I talked to the girl, she was nice about it and willing to cooperate, I asked for the manual. She said she found it, but it wasn't a manual, it was a poster for the game. (Probably came with it ANYWAY.) So she sent it. But I never got a replacement gun. And no manual.

I wasn't pissed, but I was still mad. Especially since she kept saying she'd send it soon for a month. This was around the Christmas season so I understood the wait. But I was just mad about the manual.

No big deal, it was a total of $12 or so. Or was it $20? Or whatever. At least I got the game, box, tray and poster. If I can find a new gun cheap, and a manual for the Sega CD version, I'll be happy. Too bad it's so freaking big I can't keep it with the rest of the SCD games. And it's hard to display. Gotta keep it like a DVD. Side only. Too bad, because I really like the picture on the front of the box.

On a lighter note, I once bought a Mac Color Classic on eBay aroung Thanksgiving and it came late. The excuse was "Sorry, I was in jail for a few days." LOL At least I got it. And some extras later on. (Serial Modems that were kind of handy until I got a better one and then became obsolete when I got Cable.)

Once I bought a used Chrono Trigger from K-Mart, and it ended up being a Super Scope 6 cart. :o

Which is probably why we don't do Used games anymore.
