Athena and nes toploader

I've got 2 copies of this game and after multiple cleanings I still can't get either one to work in my toploader. Just wondering if there's some kind of problem with the cart and the toploader because I find it odd that neither copy will work. Oh, and the toploader works fine with all my other games.

Still wondering about this combination. If you have a toploader and the cart try it out and see if you can get the game to play, please? :D I will love you forever or something :dance:

I would test this, but lack of Athena and the fact that I have 2 2nd-model Famicom prohibit me from doing anything :/

I very vaguely remember a friend of mine complaining about an Athena cart refusing to work, and they had a top loader setup. Offered to take a look at it, cleaned the contacts and checked solder joints on all the chip pins, worked on my toaster so I shrugged and sent it back. I'd compare the thickness of the board to other games, that could be an issue, otherwise I have no idea.

I had an Athena cart that I tried working on my top loader, but it didn't work (white screen) and figured the cart was broke, so I returned it. ??? you might be onto something.... I have no idea.

I thought I had this same problem. For some reason, with athena and the top loader, it takes about 5 seconds to kick in. Try turning it on, and just waiting a bit and see if that helps. I've ran across a few of these, and they all had this same problem

I remember having that problem. I thought it wasn't working, but when I finally gave it the time to get to the title screen, I realized that I had just been impatient with it.

Other than that, I've had no problems playing it on my top loader.
