well according to IGN sources say that square enix is REALLY impressed with the specs , development tools as well as many other things about xbox 2 and theres a damn good chance they will go on xbox 2, in this case, i will have to cry tears of joy!!! Can't wait for an official announcement, even though its probably a ways off

I on the other hand would cry tears of sadness if this turns out to be true. :(
Oh how I miss the Square-Nintendo days... (and yes I do have Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and I loved it. I want more!)

I too would cry if Square-Enix sold out to Microsoft. Both Square and Enix both had their best days with Nintendo. Final Fantasy 6 and Chrono Trigger were, in my opinion, the high point of Square's game development. Likewise, Enix really hasn't done anything better than Dragon Warrior 4. So I say boo to Xbox2, yay Nintendo, with Sony being the semi-happy medium between the two.

i don't think Square-Enix will develope for the Xbox2 at all, yes, it might be impressive, but Cube2 and PS3 will also be, and i really don't think anyone in leading positions at SE would like to make exclusive games for a US dev...

Hey Square-Enix is good and all but right now and I am glad they are conidering development on an amercian Console but this would be the last company to sellout to microsoft. hey I see NIntendo even SCEA selling out before square does. I execpt them to develop games for the mac before selling their soul to Gates.

I don't see what the big deal is. As long as the games are still good, that's all that matters to me.

Like any company, Square-Enix will make games for the systems they feel are best suited (some games may do better on one system then another) and for where they think they can make the most money. Sega is a good example of how we're allready seeing this. The Xbox seems to get most of their 'new' stuff, while remakes and ports of older stuff go to Nintendo systems (Skies of Arcadia Legends for GC, Sonic Advance for GBA).

Cry if they went to Microsoft??? Nah... I cried enough when they went to Sony, now its become more of an "I Hate those greedy bastards" sort of deal so bah. Let them go get even more money. Square... To bad they had to bring the Enix name in to it all, Bye-Bye Dragon Quest; Hello Disney Dragon Quest Tactics VIII-2 Online.

Because for some people the nostalgia is more importaint than the games.

It won't bother me unless we get something like this "Chrono Trigger 2- only on Xbox live!" That's when I'll get pissed.

Why?
Just buy the system it's on. This anti xbox just because it's Microsoft stuff is ridiculous.
Some of you are retarded.

thanks for shortening my long winded potential rant. get over it folks. system bias and whining about progress always leaves YOU out of some damn good games, period. suqenix is gonna do whatever they want, and i for one would love to see what they can do with some REALLY powerful hardware (imagine a ff game that looks like advent children running completely in real time... :eek 2: ). sure, i love my 8 and 16 bit games to death, but when a developer wants to stretch for a bit, it's ALWAYS fun to see what they come up with (unless the do...the bouncer 2, LOL )

I'd much rather see Square-Enix go to Microsoft than stick with lame-ass-can't-make-a-console-last-three-months-without-breaking Sony this next round.
I mean, Square almost killed Nintendo when they left in the 90's. Almost 10 years ago. Now it's Sony's turn to feel the pain of being number 2 or 3.
I say go for it, Square. You can do a hell of a lot more on Microsoft's box.
[Crosses fingers. Prays rumors are true.]
(I'm one of those people who believes Square-Enix is the one deciding factor in who is number 1 in the console world. Sad but true.)

Is it me, or are people forgetting that Square-Enix is still partially owned by Sony (unless Enix bought Sony out during the merger). After the debacle of Final Fantasy:The Spirits Within didnt Sony save Square's ass buy taking a 20% chunk of the company to keep them alfoat? With Crystal Chronicles and stuff, didnt they (SquareEnix) just start a development company that was going to do just Nintendo stuff again? If all of this still holds true, i dont see why SquareEnix cant have another development company do some XBox stuff too.
They do get SquareEnix, great. If not, i live. No biggie either way.

Yeah sony may own 20%, but 20% ain't much when it comes to say so, if that was the case then FF:CC whouldn't be a GC game. Sony likes to think of them as the exclusive home to Square-Enix. To me I think that shouldn't be the case for any game. I think a company should base whether they release a game based on sales of the console, difficulty of programming etc.

for me, i say good, i hope it happens. XB is in some serious need of RPGs, even if they are sequels

I haven't seen the word "exclusive" being thrown around anywhere so far. I don't see this as being a big deal at all unless its an exclusive deal and even then I probably still wouldn't care since I have all three current consoles anyway.

I'd rather see them make more than a couple of good games... then I'll bitch about what system it's on.
IE -- their games aren't as good as they used to be.
I completely agree. Square Enix have not made a good game since ther merger. So for the time being I dont give a damn.

I'm so glad I can disagree with that statement, but then again, I AM the FF nut around these parts. :D
I allready said my peace in a note eariler here.

This topic gets *big* kudos for getting all the Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft haterz/fan-boys out as *well* as the Square-Enix haterz/fan-boys. :)
Until I see the word 'exclusive' thrown around it's an interesting tidbit but not exactly earth-shattering. And I don't see *any* way that *any* publisher is going to totally jump the Sony ship unless/until one of the other manufacturers can take away a big chunk of market share.
(i.e. never, if Sony keeps playing it's cards well).
