Metal Arms (XBOX) at Best Buy for $5

Hope this hasn't been posted already (did a quick search and didn't find anything), but last night I found and bought Metal Arms: Glitch In The System for $5 (well, $4.99) at Best Buy. Don't know if that's just a local price, though. It seems like a fun game, certainly worth $5.

Well, I'm tempted to go but the problem is the closest Best Buy to me is at least a half-hour drive away. That's a long way to go (especially with gas over $2 a gallon now) on a whim...especially since they may not have much I would be interested in. At least I already have that game...it arrived Saturday on an online order from Best Buy. Of course, I could go up and, if I don't find anything worth buying, I could still take in Shrek 2 or something at the first-rate multi-plex that's up that way...

I left behind a couple games I may go get tomorrow, but before work, I'm going to go check on another Best Buy... :D I really want Wario World.

I hit up one of the Best Buys close to me and they had NOTHING. All of the title placards that said $4.99 were empty. There are a couple of other stores in higher-traffic areas, but I won't bother since they're most likely cleaned out too. I really wanted Wario World and RPG Maker 2... :o

As soon as the word got out, the vultures were out in force, buying it all up for resale. Just watch Ebay, just like after that Circuit City sale not too long ago.

Well, I woke up early (hard to sleep when a big furry cat is licking your face telling you to get up and feed it) so I will probably go ahead up there. I'm one of those that has to drive about a half-hour to get to Best Buy. Luckily, there's a number of other places up there that interest me (PetSmart, Barnes & Noble, a multi-plex) so if I don't find any games I want, it won't be a totally wasted trip... :D

I'm going up to Best Buy today to buy the new Slipknot album (bring on the Slipknot bashers! LOL ). So if there aren't any cheap games there, at least I won't go home empty handed. And there's a pawn a few blocks away that I've made some decent finds at, so I'll probably go there too.

Just got back from my local BB (endured a flat tire to get there too), and all they had for $4.99 (other than stupid code disks) was one copy of Powderpuff Girls for PS2. So yeah, mine's been gutted too.

If anyone can hook me up with Romance of The Three Kingdoms VIII (PS2), Unlimited Saga (PS2), Syberia (Xbox), Beyond Good & Evil (GCN), Wario World (GCN), or Sim City 2000 (GBA) for the BB price it'd be MUCH appreciated. :)

Well, I'm back from my journey to BB Land...and, alas, I didn't find anything that anyone here had asked for. The pickings were mighty slim and they didn't even have anything I really wanted. I wound up picking up just a single game, the XBox version of "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets". I actually had this already for GameCube but my GC copy was bought used and came without a manual. Now I can replace that and put up my GC copy of Harry for sale. I did pick up some used DVDs at a different store and took in my first movie of the year, "Shrek 2", a very funny effort which gets this Roger's thumbs up vote...

Anyway, a little off topic, but just now at my Kmart, a guy came in and bought 30+ clearanced games worth only about $250. Says he's gonna resell them at Flea Markets and maybe eBay.

Fortunately, I didn't have to flog him since he didn't buy anything I was interested in much anyway. ;)

That's probably what's going on at Best Buy's. Wish I had known about this the first day. I was off that day! And I was AT the shopping center! And I decided NOT to go in!

I went back to my Best Buy today and it looked like they never even had a sale. All together for PS2, Xbox and Gamecube they had 3 $4.99 games. A salesguy told me they were pretty much out of stock before the sale even started. Blah. I might try the bigger Best Buys down in Boulder this weekend but I'm not feeling too lucky.

I was in BB on Tues, and picked up a few games. I really wanted Gladius, but it was all gone. There was a BIG stack of Mary Kate & Ashley for the GC, but I stayed WAY away from that. When I went in today, just to see if there was anything new out, that WHOLE stack of Mary Kate & Ashley games was no more, as was pretty much everything else. I did happen to snag a Dead to Rights that an employee was restocking though, so there MAY be a couple games left around.

@ Crush - I may still be able to get a copy of Guilty Gear X2. My store still had 4 copies left, but that was yesterday.

Also "word on the street" (buddy on the inside) is that there may still be copies of these games floating around and may be restocked in the next week for the same price, so don't completely give up hope yet.

Well, I went to my local Best Buy (Portland, OR) yesterday as planned, and found a few $4.99 games left. For PS2, there were 2 copies of Haven: Call Of The King, which has been priced at $4.99 since the beginning of May and hasn't been moving fast, there were about 8 copies there at the beginning of the month, and 6 when I went there to buy the new Killswitch Engage album a couple weeks ago. There were also 4 copies of NCAA Final Four 2003 and three copies of some game called Jet X2.0 or something. For the GBA, they had some Muppet game. The only GC game was Beyblade, and they had about 8 copies left. Nothing in the Xbox section.
Except for Haven, which I passed on since I already own it (I recommend it if it's still available at your local Best Buy), none of the $4.99 games left were of any interest to me. So the only thing I bought was the new Slipknot CD. If my local store had anything I may have been interested in on Monday, I missed out. Oh well, more money available for other things.

Super disappointo at my local Best Buy last night. Everything was pretty picked clean, though I did grab Rocky for the PS2 for $4.99. Better than leaving empty handed and I'm a closet Rocky fan (even have the original anniversary movie boxed set), so it's good by me.

Yesterday (a bit late, I know) I went to two local Best Buys in Milwaukee. I missed Wario World for $5 (damn), they had still three other games in stock for $5 I wasn't interested in.

BUT...it was worth it nonetheless.

I got Winning Eleven 6 (PS2) and Sphinx (PS2) for $10 each, both games are certainly worth the price. Both games were on my 'maybe' list.

...and yeah, both stores had tons of Legend of Legaia's and Outlaw Volleyball for $10 as well.

Is Outlaw Volleyball worth the ten bucks from a gameplay perspective (not a collectors perspective)?

If we had Volley Ball for that price, I'd buy it too. (It's like $30 still.) Hell, I'll also be picking up Outlaw Holiday Golf tomorrow as well. $6.99 used at GS.

I went to my local BB tonight and there was no sign of any sale. There were no games priced under 9.99. Some of the titles that folks say were on sale were in stock but the price was like 19.99. I guess the sale is not in all BBs.

I was pissed that Metal Arms was still going for $19.99 for Xbox at my local best buy. I saw 1 GBA title going for $4.99. That's it! There were quite a few games going for $9.99 though. None that i was interested in. Damn it! Metal Arms is such a great title. I kind of feel guilty not paying anything less then $50. I don't know how the sales have been for Metal Arms, but it's never good to have a dramatic price drop a month or 2 after release. I hope a sequel comes out. One of the few games that deserves a sequel but probably wont get one. damn it!

...did you ask them to price check the games? Most stores including mine usually don't change the price tabs on the shelves, but the games will still ring up with the deal price anyway. I don't know if they are lazy or what, but its usually that way at Best Buy.

They are definitely restocking the sale games. I went to a Best Buy two days ago and they had next to nothing. I went back today to pick up Mario vs. Donkey Kong on sale and lo aand behold they had put more stuff out.

I picked up Wario Ware, Inc., Spyro 2 Season of Flame and Tom & Jerry in Infurnal Escape for the GBA for $4.99 each. They had also put more PS2 games, including Haven, Smuggler's Run, Legend of Legaia 2 ($9.99), Rogue Ops ($9.99).

Gamecube games seem to be the hardest to find.

I stopped by a local Best Buy earlier tonight, not much left there either. I did snag the last copy of Road Rash Jailbreak for the GBA for $4.99, although it's nowhere near as good as the Road Rashes on Genesis (or 3DO for that matter). I really, really wish that I could've gotten a copy of Wario World. Those were some insane deals.....I might try to hit a couple of stores tomorrow, but it doesn't sound like there's much left anywhere.
