Should a power supply leave marks on your outlet?

This put a major damper on my excitement of finally receiving a NES. Now I'm afraid to plug it back in. Anyone else have this problem?

Is it an official NES adapter, and if not, is it the correct voltage?

Actually that sounds kinda bad. I'd get another AC adaptor just to be safe and hope you didn't fry your NES.

Just talked to my sister. Turns out that the marks have always been there. Thus, I'm in the clear. Oh, the supply is voltage-correct. Thank you, Oobgarm and Daria, just the same.

I would be a little weary of using that outlet. Should be ok though.
