So what's the deal with this game, anyway? I have the Saturn version, and although I do WANT to like it, I can't because the miserable bastard computer opponents cheat all the time. The cheating is so incredibly obvious that I can frequently predict the outcome of my dice rolls... just think of the worst possible outcome depending on your current situation, and nine times out of ten, that's exactly what will happen. Here seems to be the rules the game follows when handling the dice:
1. If the player is low on money and desperately needs to reach the castle in the center of the screen, give him a 1 or a 2.
2. If the player is approaching a computer controlled square worth more mana than he can afford, give him a roll that will force him to land on that square.
3. If the player uses Flight to increase the number of dice he can throw in his turn, make sure both dice come up as 1s or 2s so he STILL won't go anywhere.
4. If the computer opponent is low on money, or just happens to feel like making it across the board in record speed, give him the largest roll possible.
5. If the computer opponent happens to be near a player controlled square worth a great deal of mana, give him a roll that will safely whisk him past that space (ignore this rule if the computer opponent happens to have a card that can mutilate whatever is currently occupying said space).
6. If the computer opponent uses Flight to increase the number of dice he can throw in his turn, make sure the total is AT LEAST 12.
Culdcept so blatantly and obviously stacks the deck against the player that I can no longer bear to play it. It doesn't help matters that the computer opponent gloats whenever he gets a good roll or steals your territory, which if you haven't been paying attention earlier is ALL THE FUCKING TIME. Is the Playstation 2 version of the game this aggravating? I just have to know.
