I just drove by a Blockbuster store and saw a sign on the window that said, "Unlimited Gaming" Summer Gaming Pass $49.99.
When I got home, I called Blockbuster to get the details. Apparently they have a new "Summer" gaming pass. The deal is that it lasts for 3 months, actually, I think it's a little bit longer than 3 months, and it's the same as the regular Gamers Pass, except that you don't have to purchase it by Credit Card. You can buy it with Cash or Gift card or whatever.
Supposedly you are still limited to only having 1 game out at a time.
The only reason to take this deal over the regular deal, is that you save 10 bucks, if you were going to do the Gamers Pass 3 times this summer. Also, I think you get a little bit longer of a period of time than 3 months, because I think it lasts all the way to labor day. So if you got it now, you would get the very end of May, and the beginning of September, in addition to all of June, July and August.
Not too bad of a deal, if you know you are going to want a Gamers Pass during that period of time anyways.
But I was really hoping for being able to have more than 1 game out at a time. I was hoping it would be 2 or 3 games out at a time. That would have clenched the deal for me. But just 1 game doesn't cut it. I think I will just stick to the 30 day normal Gamer's Pass and use it during a period when there are alot of new releases.
