I use a U.S. region SNES and picked up a Pro Action Replay cart on Ebay recently. I'm considering purchasing some PAL titles, but thought I would ask for someone else's experiences before doing this. Are there any drawbacks to playing a PAL cart on an NTSC system? Didn't know if it would look or sound differently. And since the Replay cart was naked, does anyone know what the toggle switch does on the up, center and down position? Thanks!

On playing PAL titles on an NTSC SNES - it depends on the game. If the PAL release was unoptimised, then you'll get the same experience as if you'd bought an actual NTSC version. If it was optimised, then quite likely you might get some picture shrinkage and speed increase (as the PAL release would have been sped up to cope with the drop in refresh rate from 60Hz to 50Hz).

As for the AR itself... I have one, it's in the loft so I can't grab the manual! But I recall, the middle is the "off" position. Moving it down and reseting the SNES goes to the menu where you can get the cart to either start the search for cheats, or enter ones you know. Putting the toggle in the up position "turns on" any cheats you put in.
