Jaguar Controller question

My buddy gave me a Jaguar to sell for him on E-bay. Unlike all the controllers I've seen, this one has grey buttons instead of black and the D-pad doesn't seem as raised. Is it anything special?

I think the ones sold separately from the system had a different rubber pad for the buttons. Nothing special.
