For a first alpha release, it is working pretty nicely on this end. On my P4 3ghz, I am getting well over 60 fps. I only tried Sonic 2 so far, and while there is some graphic corruption, it runs pretty well. Give it a go:

:D Damn, I was hoping I was first but I see you beat to the punch.....
Anyway, I cut n pasted my original post below that I have posted elsewhere as it includes more helpful info/links................

It works very well, requires WinXP and also Dreamcasr Bios files (dc_bios / dc_flash) I won't post BIOS files but here are several links regarding this great new emulator!
For the record I was VERY skeptical but it realy does work and is very impressive, even more impressive than any Sega Saturn emulator to date, go figure....

I have two pc's
PC 1: Win2K - 566mhz. Hardly the machine for this emu
PC2: Win98 - 1.4ghz. Great platform to test out the the new DC emu. Oh wait it won't run on win98!?! O_O

I also have a dreamcast and a pretty fair library of games so I'm not compelled to rush out and give this one a try. Maybe after it develops further and supports my faster pc (win98) then I can give a few of those must have titles missing from my collection a demo. :-P

Normally I'd be fairly excited about a Dreamcast emulator... but I'm running a 400MHz system here, so it's pretty much out of the question. Besides, I'm sitting next to a REAL Dreamcast anyways :)

This really is great news; I'm really excited about it. The only real catch with Chanka is that you need a pretty powerful computer to get it to work properly. For instance, I tried Daytona USA 2001, and the graphics were perfect, but the speed was very slow. But then again, here's my computer stats:

AMD Athlon 2800+
512 MB ram
PowerColor ATI Radeon 9200

That video card is the real culprit -- these things really suck when you don't know anything about graphics cards. "9200?" That sounds good. D'oh! I'll be getting a better one next weekend; I wonder if another 512 ram would help?

But Chanka is terrific, and it should be, considering how easy the DC architecture was (Sega learned from the Saturn mess). Definitely get your mitts on this one.

HHHHmmm, well I run WinXP/256mb ram/Athlonxp 1800+ but it runs great! Of course I have a Geforce 4 Ti 4200 so I assume it must be the Graphics card, which makes sense I mean considering it's emulating a Dreamcast system I think a decent video card and CPU would be expected.......

Yeah, in my case, it's most definitely the graphics card. I've read some online articles comparing the various ATI and NVidia cards on most big-name games, and Radeon 9200 is just about the bottom of the barrel.

Of course, my last computer had literally the most bare-bones video card you could imagine, so it's still an improvement for me. Playing, say, Unreal 2004 is a bit choppy. As for emus, Chanka runs slow for me, as well as some of the bigger 3D MAME games (Tekken, Cruisin' USA, ST-V games).

But, anyway, if you're looking into Chanka, you should probably upgrade your computer.

Not sure if this is what you're implying or not, but those games being slow in MAME has absolutely nothing to do with your video card. It could impact the performance you see on Tekken in Zinc, for example, but it has no impact on MAME.

I'll have to agree with that since Mame does not use any of your video card's enhanced 3-D features. Mame is almost all CPU power, so if you are getting slowdown in games, this is the reason. I tried Area 51 (chd) on my P4 system with an old 16MB Riva card the other day and it played at the exact same speed as with my 128MB FX 5900. The speed is because of my CPU (p4 3.0ghz)

Color me excited. My new machine (P4 3.4ghz, 2 gigs of RAM, 256 ATI Radeon 9800XT) flies it, with at the least, 40fps when there are 4+ characters on the screen at once. Usually 65 seconds otherwise. Pretty damn amazing for an ALPHA. :D Some graphical glitches, and the sound is off.... but playable on the first release is crazy.

And from what I've read of their forums, the limiter is your CPU.

I can only play for netplay in a year or so. *prays*

So has anyone ran one of the Dc Emulators (like NesterDC) on this yet ?

Does it run fast ?

Yea I know theres no reason to do it but that is what I live for.

If I could find any of my DC Emulators I'd try it but I packed them up someone and can"t find them.

By the way I can't get Half-Life , Propellor Arena, or BOR to work on this , anyone else having that problem ?
