In the Richter game of SotN, has anyone ever managed to bring Galamoth (the 2 screen-sized boss) down?

jump to the top right ledge (or whichever is the one near his head)
with the dagger, continuously do the Dagger item crash

Just don't die after fighting him for 20 minutes =).

Great, where's the nearest Dagger? @_@

Yes but I dont recall how I did it. I think I hit him repeatedly in the ankle/foot area...

I find the Holy Water item crash to be more effective, though it costs more hearts. Still, that Hydro Storm can really save your ass.

God damn I still can't kill it!

you could just skip him entirely =P

True, but like to least try to get much of the max % I can in the Richter game...just for fun. ;)

I did it on the Saturn vesion a few years ago.

Love that avatar, Kaine!

Er, anyway. I never tried to beat Galamoth with Richter. Heck, I've had great difficulty beating him with Alucard... that guy is a real monster if you don't have the right tools for the job. If you don't have a Thunder Circlet you might as well just bend over and let Galamoth have his way with you. I DID manage to beat Galamoth without one, but it required many tries and nearly all the healing items I had collected up to that point.

I'm sure there are strategies on GameFAQs which describe how to beat Galamoth with Richter... I suspect that it would take a lot of high jumping to swat him in the face, his most vulnerable area. Also, there are ledges on the topmost corners of the screen which really come in handy... until Galamoth starts shooting out those awful electrified plasma balls.

Yeah well I'm about to give up myself. Most the strats involve getting on the rightside ones via air dash, which I have problems doing.

Thanks for the words on my avatar though. Funny, beaten it already but considering going through again now that I know how to rig up Alucard's stats higher during the "Bloodlines" fight.

This is the strategy that'll work. It's what I did as well, seeing how the holy water crash does little damage for the repeated amounts you dish out and the holy ash invincibility doesn't last you long enough (going by maxed out hearts) to beat him to death death with whips and air dash attacks.

But the flurry of daggers at his face from that ledge will have him go down. You may have to avoid some attacks while on the ledge or move to the opposite side of the room, if he manages to get to close to you, so dashing is key for movement.

Beating him with Alucard is easy. All you have ot do is get that one sword towards the end of the game and just keep doing the special move which while doing it you can't be hurt.

there's actually a "bug" in the Alucard fight. There is a certain position on the screen near his legs that will allow you to continously hit him. 'Moth attempts to take a step forward, but about halfway into the step animation his foot goes back. He's stuck in this half-step loop and wont be able to hit you

Be nice I could find a Dagger nearby too...

Anyhow, going back to try to get closer to max completion for Alucard and Richter (minus Gal's area)...

Hey, has anyone here ever gotten the max 200.6% with Alucard? I'm at 200% now, missing only .6% left and not sure excatly what I am missing.

the total number of rooms (blocks on the map) i believe is 1890

look at your map and look for any "breaks" in the room outline

kainemaxwell

I have 1884 rooms and haven't seen any breaks. Anything that's easily overlooked?

There are some walls that would break away when hit. I don't quite remember but did break away parts in the wall count for the %?

Richter

yes, since they lead to new rooms and thus uncover blocks on the map

I should have been more specific. What I meant was the break away parts in areas inside rooms, not alongside map walls that would connect other rooms. Like there's an area that is like a crumbling mess of stairs and pillars, don't recall the room area name, but there are some walls and pillars inside the room that can be smashed. I also believe the area that surrounds the entrance to the room for the Richter battle, if you manage to get up to some of the broken pillars hanging around in the far left, I guess hanging under that room(?) there are pillars there that can also be smashed. It's been a long time since I played. :D

I think I know what you mean though. Are there any areas easily missed that I might have? Comparing my map to some the others I've found no hole sor breaks that I could notice...

in that rock tunnel in the Enterance, did you run through it a mess of times as the Wolf? It will eventually open up 2(?) new rooms on the bottom left of that screen

In the Clock Tower, hit all the gears (they're in room that go vertical) until you hear them 'click.' When they all click a new room will open up in the bottom left of your screen.

All i can think f at the mo' :-/

There's also that kind of hidden elevator that let you access one really small room that a bunch of people generally miss.

kainemaxwell

Did the gears, did the room where you run through as the wolf (its one room, btw). Where's this hidden elevator?

Richter
06-06-2004, 06:04 PM
somewhere in the Outer Wall. You break away part of the left wall in one of the rooms and stand there (and hold up?) til some elevator whisks you away to some room above it
