For either PSOne, DC, or GCN. I hear the MK Trilogy is good, but I'm a little weary of psx loading times for fighters.

I would recommend Mortal Kombat Trilogy. It's the best MK game I've ever played (N64 version). I hear ya on the load times though, never played the PSX version so I don't know how that would pan out. Probably not too terribly so that's my recommendation.

Agreed. I've never played any cd versions of the MK, but I can't imagine waiting on load times. Ruins the whole feeling for me. MK trilogy for N64 is great.

If you want 2D then get Trilogy for Saturn (load times are better on Saturn) or PSX (N64 doesnt have an arcade stick... or does it???) It has all the characters so... yeah.
Havent played to much of Deadly Alliance but I guess its pretty decent for MK standards. Dont bother with MK 4.
And Midway is putting MK, MK II, and MK III in Midway Arcade Treasures 2 on GCN, PS2, and Xbox.
I would say get Midway arcade treasures 2 for the Gamecube. THe hype is that it has MK, MKII, and MK3 on one disc ported perfectly from arcades along with a bunch of other great oldschool classics. I think it comes out this fall with a pricetag of $20. I will def. be picking it up the first day it comes out. Hope this helps!

MKII's my favorite, and I trust that MAT2 will flawlessly emulate the first three games. MK: Deadly Alliance is my second favorite, and I have it for the XBOX. I hope the many goodies the Krypt has to offer will keep you busy for a long while. :D
Now have fun. *GONG* MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

I always thought MK4 was a horrible disappointment. Normally, I'd recommend MKII (SNES or 32X), since MKII was always the best in the series anyways... but if you're going to limit this to 32-bit consoles, then I guess I'll have to go with MK Trilogy.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy is good for Playstation cuz they have Classic SUb-Zero (which is my favortie character :D). Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance is all that bad either. And also I think MKII is best for Super Nintendo because it has a richer sound than the version for Sega Genesis.

I'd personally say wait for MAT2...I can't wait for that one myself.
I'd have to say one of my fave MK's is the original on Sega CD. For some reason, the sound is great IMO, I haven't found a better version. If you hate loading though, stay away, it's pretty rough. But other than that I recommend it.
