I downloaded Nostalgia on your recommendation, and I have to agree... it's the best Intellivision emulator available. The designer went a little overboard trying to capture the feel of the system in the interface, but the ugly font and screen colors are easily ignored when you consider how easy it is to use, and the number of games it can play. Unless something totally spectacular comes along, I doubt I'll use anything else to play Intellivision games.
You were right about something else, too. Remember a long, long time ago when we got into a war of (written) words about the quality of Demon Attack on the 2600? I was upset about the game's omission of the mothership in the Intellivision game, but turns out that it really wasn't that much of a loss. The boss battle in the Intellivision game was clumsily done, with a force field that isn't accurately damaged by your shots and a rain of birds that could wipe out your entire fleet if you happen to die in the center of the screen. The game as a whole is pretty lackluster... the graphics are extremely blocky, making the 2600 look beautiful by comparison, and the control is crummy, too, even on an emulator with a much better joystick. Having played both extensively, I have to say that I definitely prefer the 2600 version of Demon Attack... although Phoenix on the 2600 offers BOTH good gameplay and a better version of the boss fight in the Intellivision version of Demon Attack.

P.S. The worst version of Demon Attack I've ever played was Super Demon Attack, released for the TI 99/4A. It wasn't just a disappointment... it was a nightmare! Why are all the crappiest games always given the name "Super", anyway? It's like they're trying to overcompensate for their miserable quality with an impressive name.
