View Full Version : SMS Box Dilemma
Recently, I've come to find that the plastic slip-covers (what are they actually called anyway?) on my SMS game boxes feel slightly sticky to me...sometimes (sometimes they don't). I don't know if it's my fingers, or I'm going crazy, or it's the plastic totes I've put them in. I've used these totes for months so it's hard to believe it's them. Anybody care to figure this one out?

You keep them in plastic totes? Maybe a greenhouse-effect. Are they near the sun? That might be it.

i know i had some old action figures (he-men, transformers) that i sold on ebay...but before i sold them, they were in my garage attic so long that the heat had started to make a few of them feel sticky....so that may be it....greehouse-effect

Sounds like the plastic's decomposing a little, my mother collects dolls and that requently happens to some of the older (or cheaper) plastic ones, the recommended remedy is baking soda (snap off a doll's head and pack it in the body), but I don't know how you'd put that in a game box.
Could try a little olive oil, I notice when I use it to clean off stickers it seems to almost rejuevinate the plastic, then use a little acetone (nail polish remover) to remove the oily feel.
