Hi!
Looked around but couldn't find any concrete info. I'm looking to buy Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 for Dreamcast (complete) - was hoping to find one in good shape for under 15$ (shipped) but no luck. I may just get the import version off Ebay b/c it goes for much less than the U.S. version (I can play imports on my DC so that's not a prob). Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the Japanese import version and the U.S. version?
Thanks,
Elliot

this is a good question, and i'd like to know the answer as well!
i may be able to help in about a week if no info is procured before then. i have the domestic, and i have the import version on it's way from ebay right now... hopefully i'll have it soon, but i'd like to know any differences between the two versions before i get it, if it all possible =)

You can't get all the characters. Unless you download a VMU save or use a cheat device.
The reason is, the Japanese version uses 3 kinds of points for the secret factor shop. 1 of these kinds can only be earned by playing online.
Otherwise, the only other difference is character names. Gouki, Vega, Nash, Bulleta, Kobun, Rockman, etc.

i guess it kinda sucks that you can't unlock everything because the online play is no longer available... guess i'll have to get something to transfer VMU saves from PC to DC. what is there to do that?
also ewrann... i like your bungle avatar.
Patton is god.

Go online with the DC and get the save from gamefaqs. Hopefully they still have them.

Hey Perkar -
There's something called a Nexus VMU that has a cable that attaches the VMU to a PC. This way you can download VMU files and transfer them to the Nexus VMU. You can also backup your vmu saves to your pc as well. Never seen/used one but I believe Lik-Sang sells them.
All hail Bungle!
*You're from MI? Did you go to the infamous Bungle Halloween 1999 show in Pontiac?

Man, if only we got online play. :( That way I could play portnoyd AND Justin Wong from the comfort of my own room.

ewrann: unfortunately i haven't seen mr bungle, and it looks like i'm not going to. unfortunate for me really.
i have seen patton with tomahawk 3 times, and with fantomas twice, and with lovage once... all fucking awesome shows. lovage was a definite highlight, and the first fantomas show here in detroit at the magic stick... holy christ
