Do I need a Mod Chip or something to play Import DC games on my US DC? Or do I just need a boot disc of some kind? Or is it something else?
I can't find anything aside from "swapping tricks" in my searches, and I really don't care much for screwing with my consoles like that. Anyway, thanks in advance!

Depends on your dreamcast. You might need to download the utopia boot disc or your dreamcast might be able to read cdrs and japanese games. This all depends on when your dreamcast rolled off the assembly line. You can get the utopia boot disc here http://www.dchomebrew.org/Utopia.shtm l.

I know for a fact that my DC reads CDr's. Do I still need to snag a boot disc, or should they just play when I pop 'em in?
I don't have any imports yet, but I want to pick up a few - I've seen some pretty good deals recently.
Thanks again for your help! :)

If your DC can read CDRs, then all you need to do is burn a copy of the utopia boot disc and then pop in your import game. Of course, if you are gonna pirate the games, then you can generally find a selfbooting copy if you look around enough.

If you're gonna play legitimate import games, the DC GameShark and Codebreaker will let you boot up most imports.

Most games work with the boot disc.
Sakura Taisen 3 requires mod chip. I installed mine without a hitch. Never soldered before either. Read how to solder first thought.
There's a FAQ on Gamefaqs that states the 4 or 5 games that do not support the boot disc.

I play legit imports (Jp AND PAL) with the Utopia boot disc myself.

I got a 404 when I clicked on the link. I bet that you can still google it though.
